Water needs movement and better container to block out sun. The water gets gross and slimmy. I use R/O water too. My dog wont touch tap water or bread lol. Smart dog. Waste of money unless you're going outta town.

This water bowl dispenser is easy to use and looks great. It helped me make sure my 60 lb pitbull stayed hydrated, especially when I was out of town. The water supply lasted him 5 days before needing refilling and cleaning. Granted, he was loafing most of the time. I imagine if he was more active, it would have been less days. This comes with a brush to clean the bowl with, which is super useful to keep the freshness of the water.

I bought this because we got another dog and a bowl was not enough for 2 dogs. Well this definitely hold enough water but then the water gets gross before the water is gone. It’s just really hard to clean. Also the jug didn’t come with any kind of lid it just has this useless “filter” thing that sits under the jug. So when I go to put the water on the base it just dumps out everywhere! Also our is a month old and the “filter” is disgusting and stinks bad making the water the same. This whole thing is just a horrible design and a waste of money!! Wish I could return but that window has passed

My dog loves it! He has drank more water since we got it. The bowl we had he would seldom go to it but he did drink, but this dispenser seems to drawl him in. I like it to because I don’t have to fill it up as much and I can see when I need to add water.

I prefer the flowing type of water dish that continually recirculates the water. My wife, on the other hand, prefers the stagnant style of dish. This one is a bit of a compromise. The water doesn't recirculate, but at least there's a filter between the reservoir and the bowl, for what it's worth.We don't own dogs anymore (they're waiting at the Rainbow Bridge), but occasionally we babysit our 4-legged "grandson". We pretty much only needed something to hold water, but didn't want to spend all our time refilling it, either. This dish has a large reservoir. It's almost oversize for the dish. Half-full it lasts for days... but that doesn't mean we can forget about it for days. Our "grandson" is a loveable Beagle, but God bless him, he has the worst slobber problem I've ever seen. After two drinks out of this watering dish, the bowl is filled with slobber and the water contaminated. So cleaning this water dish is pretty much a daily chore. However, one feature I especially like about this dish is that the reservoir cap is spring loaded. When you lift up on the reservoir, the cap snaps shut and thus you don't need to worry about spilling/splashing everywhere. Then just remove the stainless bowl from the plastic frame and you're good to go. This bowl will never be my favorite, but it works for what we need it for (i.e. temporary dog-sitting).
