After waiting 3 weeks for the part to arrive I went to install it and it didn't fit. I need to connect two shafts together, one being 12.7mm and the second one being 10mm. The 10mm end fits fine, but the 12.7mm end is too big as it easily slides right off, even when fully tightened. I have spare 12.7 x 10mm coupling and tried that one as a comparison, and it fits fine. Despite ordering a 12.7mm x 10mm coupling, and the packaging stated it was 12.7 x 10, it must have been either mis-marked or manufactured incorrectly. Order at your own risk.

I require couplers in my CNC machine and my 3d printer. Since the CNC machine is milling Aluminum it is very hard on couplers. Specifically the X direction the X stepper motor seems to take more abuse than the others. I have found that I need to bore out couplers using my metal lathe for the exact size of the shaft. I generally buy a coupler sized for the smallest shaft and bore out the other end for the larger shaft. You can attempt to size each end of the coupler for the appropriate shaft, but in the end, I have found that boring out the other end is the best method. The only way this works for me it to get an aluminum coupler. This coupler fits easily for that use. The gel like insert absorbs some of the backlash when the CNC is working and boring the larger end is a breeze.

I ordered this to replace a flex coupling in a CNC project I have. Problem solved. this is rock solid and does exactly what I need it to do.

The flexible design handles slight misalignments. Only docking a star because installing it was a bit fiddly, and I dropped the tiny screws more times than I’d like to admit. Still, it gets the job done!
