I'm working on rust repair on my 87 jeep xj and these are great for cleaning rusty surfaces that don't need to be replaced too. The fine grit pad is great for any surface rust or just before epoxy primers etc. Love the quick change, makes it easy to swap between grits and the two mandrels for both drill and die grinder.

These Rol-loc style discs are such a great invention when it comes to metal prep and finished. Any time I need to remove paint and rust on metal that I am going to repair these non-woven abrasive discs are my first choice. They do such a great job of cleaning up a metal surface without removing any metal in the process. They also are great for getting into seams and tight spots where a sanding disc will never get. This makes for a cleaner surface for welding and less hand work in the preparation. This particular package has a nice selections of grits that I typically use as well as being a large quantity for a very reasonable price.

Disks are now packaged in zip bags to separate fine, medium and course, however the bags are not labeled. I had to go back to the Amazon product page to be certain which was which.I just installed my Winter tire/wheel set and was going to repair some curb rash on my Summer wheels, but when I tried these out on some scrap material first the lack of disc-to-disc uniformity became clear and I was not willing to put my wheels at risk. It appears that the AlO2 coating was not applied uniformly resulting in large variations among discs of the "same grit".Second inconsistency is applicable tools. The product page says pneumatic and electric compatibility and the photos show die grinders and drill drivers. However, the manual packaged with the product says no electric drills, and that usage is restricted to tools that can operate at a minimum RPM far above the capability of drills.I think these will be fine for course work like rust removal and BBQ grill grate cleaning.

The assortment of disks is good and come in three different textures; softer, medium, and coarser. The disk pad has a quick release "screw-on" tab that allow a quick change between disks with quickness and ease. The pad itself had two different arbors either a 1/4 inch standard drill chuck type or the 1/4 inch hex quick change for tools that will accept that format. I chose to use the 1.4 hex version and it fit in, operated on and removed from, a standard Milwaukee drill with no issues whatsoever.I tested the pad on a piece of somewhat rusted metal and the pad seems to hold up pretty good so far. I like this assortment of pads and I think you will too. I hope my review and pictures will help you decide if these are right for your applications. Thanks for reading!

I own the 3M Rolock pad and surface conditioning discs. I have used them on various projects around the house and at work for many years. I was getting low on sanding disks and decided to give this Rolokit 92-piece set a tryout.I orginally ordered this 2" quick change sanding disk kit because it included 3 different sanding grit disks (80, 120, and 180) and an arbor that adapts for use in die grinders and 1/4" quick change power tools.I am disappointed with the sanding disks in this kit. Several of the sanding disc conditioning pads are installed far off center. This means that these discs to be out of round when spinning and cause unwanted variations in the sanding finish and the conditioning discs to wearout quickly. I included a review photo of one of the conditioning discs.I deducted 1Star from my review for this reason.The sanding pad shank adapters are made from very soft metal when compared to the official 3M brand product. I'm doubting that they will hold up over the use of the 89 sanding disks that are included with this kit.1 deducted 1 Star from my review for this reason.This 92-piece Rolokit 2" quick change sanding disk kit is overpriced. I looked around and found several other sellers of similar sized kits at half the price.I deducted 1 Star from my review rating for this reason.I am sorry to say that I am very disappointed with this product.I recommend that you purchase the official 3M Scotch-Brite Roloc disc pad and surface conditioning discs. I have almost 10 years of use from my 3M Roloc disc pad and it is still in great condition.
