Still Schneider Electric, same pressure switch we've known and trusted for years. I like this low-pressure cutoff model, it costs a few dollars extra and can save a pump costing hundreds of dollars. I make sure to educate the customer on how to reset. Go over it with every household member if you can. The package has no instructions.

Yup Yup Yup. I agree with the professionals on this reliable product. However I also Agree how one has to "fiddle" on adjustment to get settings(limited) you desire. That said, after the points stuck and kept the system from operating properly I had my 'professional" guy install a heavier duty version of this unit at a much higher price . Around $150 bucks. It continued to work fine and could take a beating from a bad air bladder pressure tank leaky bladder. On off ,on off, on off etc. etc. , then overheated motor kicks the breaker , of course usually on a late saturday night only to wake up again sunday and no house water. *&@!()^$$# sound familiar. ? Water tank recently failed again . Replaced tank, and I replaced the old style pressue switch With a digital commercial heavy duty switch, installed by my "professional". Again. Easy peasy to set . So easy a, ...........could do it. lol . No more sticking points. IMHO had I have known about this Digital many moons ago, this would have saved countless "professional " Service calls and tons of expenses relating to burned up pumps, switches etc. I Had to(waterboard) pull it out of my pro" guy to give up the Secret of how to end this obselete part of the water system, which has alway been kept indoors in our Fla.Home . Don't get me started on the water softners and related salt price increases. thanks Brandon. No wonder I still drive a '95 GMC pickup and my "pros" all have high end TRD's and 4X4's diesel. True dat.

This switch device cuts the motor off when it looses water for what ever reason. I could have saved a $500.00 pump had I used this switch. Easy to change ouy.

Ordered this to replaced our existing Square D 40/60 pump switch (old one stopped turning "on"). Took this one out of the box and it was a straight forward replacement for my old one. If you're interested, does NOT come (nor does it say it does) power NM cable clamps nor the 1/4" pipe attachment to connect to your system. I reused the clamps from my old unit but purchased the 1/4" NBT from my LHS (get one you can clamp onto or has a wrench-able surface) If you're using with a pressure tank make SURE that the tank is a few PSI lower than the cut-off pressure. I set mine at 38psi and had zero issues.Worked like a charm! Installed, powered up (manually started the system with a flick of the lever to get past 40psi) and then it took over from there. Nailed the pressure right at 40/60.Would purchase again, would recommend to others!

To override the 10 psi cutoff, pull the lever on the side until you hear the motor turn on (or feel the vibration from the pumping water). When the pressure exceeds 10 psi you can release the lever and the pump will then work on its own.To reduce the amount of work on your pump motor, a retention tank can be used with a pressurized bladder. I have installed a Wellmate and it works fine with my 1/2 horsepower well pump.

As a retired union electrician, I can say without a doubt Square D(this device's manufacture), (as well as Allen Bradley) products are the Cadillacs of their industry. Adjustments and wiring are no problem...just follow the directions. The switch can be used for 240 vac as well as 120 vac pump systems or used as a pilot device if using a relay or contactor. Note: if your wiring to a 120 vac pump, only switch the hot wire and put nuetral wiring straight thru or splice as needed (never switch the nuetral). Also a few points of interest to persons setting up a sprinkler system, as I did, most pumps do not put out enough pressure to use a 40-60psi switch. Most sprinkler pumps peak at 40-48psi regardless of flow rate and won't have enough pressure to trip cut-off point pressure on a 40-60psi switch at factory adjustment. I have not yet tried to lower the factory setting yet, but from past experience with these switches, I believe it will dial down when adjusted, but a 30-50psi switch would be more appropriate for the application. Also a point of interest is when using a pressure switch for a sprinkler system, you MUST have a pressure tank. The switch will just rapidly cycle on-off if a pressure tank is not used when flow rate is low or shut-off. The last point of interest is the low pressure safety cut-off feature. When your using this switch, if for any reason the pressure falls approx. 10 psi below cut-in, the safety lever will trip and have to be manually reset. I personally prefer this function over no safety due to it will prevent your pump from burning up internal components due to lack of supply water, for any of a variety of causes. Although I wrote this review for a sprinkler application type use, the same principles should apply to well usage. It' a quality switch made to last a lifetime when properly installed and easily adjusted.
