There is nothing to protect the bikes from the hard plastic and the bike would not fit.

Bought these to replace my Allen brand rack holders but these aren't going to work. As show in the picture, my bike doesn't sit far inside these holders at all. There's also no cushion for the bike to sit on. It is all plastic. There's no flexibility in them either so the bike bar just sits on top and obviously it is strapped in but they're not even close to the side my rack came with.

Excellent replacement for worn and broken straps on a well used bike rack

Used to replace aging and cracking red rubberized plastic holders on a hitch mounted bell holder system. Needed T20 torx driver to remove the end caps. Also needed a lubricant to slide them on easily. Then, a 5mm hex/Allen key to loosen the clamps on these holders and then tighten them in position once in place.The rubber straps seem ok. The holders might be too small for carbon frame bikes. Let's be honest, if you have a $2700 carbon frame bike, you could probably afford a better bike rack.Will update after several months and years of use. May not use all 8 holders so have enough for two bikes on it so far.
