These seem like decent pieces of piano hinge for light-duty applications. They are thin and somewhat flexible, but that’s typical of piano hinge as you rely on the surface you’re mounting to for stiffness. Some of the pieces have a slight curve but it flattens out as you as you screw them down. The finish on these looks good, with a somewhat rough texture. These aren’t high-gloss. The finish seems pretty durable as the sections rub and bump against each other in the packaging and there was no chipping or scratching. Stainless steel is generally a little less magnetic than plain carbon steel (or not magnetic at all for better, marine grades) – these pieces are a little less magnetic than a metal shelf I compared against. So, there’s no reason to challenge the specification that these are stainless steel. Note that these pieces do not come with screws, so you will need to source those separately in black if you want a matching color.I am sure there are better grades of piano hinge out there, but at $13.99 for eight 10-inch pieces, these are quite reasonably priced. So, I think they are a good value if lightly made hinge will do the job.
