Works well to check for leaking valves and other issues. Just don't turn it up all the way on the dial or it will get stuck outside the range. Also be gentle with the psi, psi can bend stuff.

...the question is exactly HOW bad? And the answer is "very".I hooked this up to my air supply. I hooked up the spark plug adapter to the gauge, but I did not screw it into the engine. I let it hand free to simulate a 100% loss situation.I started turning the dial to let air in. By the time I hit 20psi on the gauge, the % of cylinder leakage was showing 5%. It should have been showing 100% as all the air was leaking out.
