I bought one from another dealer and metal was cheap. cam lobe worn off in 35 min of use so I replaced it with this one and it worked fine ,it was wrapped in brown paper to keep it from rusting just like B&S does.

This camshaft worked fine to start with, but it only lasted 3 months before one of the lobes wore and failed.. Too soft of metal. I would not recomend

This camshaft fit my B&S 15.5Hp riding mower engine and fixed the problem. Some YouTube video creators stated to stick with the brand name camshafts, that generic ones will not last. But this one was much cheaper, looked good to me and it worked well. Time will tell how long it lasts. But, apparently, the original is not all that good because this seems to be a fairly common problem. It is not an easy install because you have to completely remove the engine from the mower and take the oil sump pan (bottom of engine) off. After installing, I had to learn how to adjust the governor because the engine tried to rev up too much.

they squished the gaskets in the same box as the cam not on a piece of cardboard. I could not use one of them, luckily the used one was fine. as far as the cam this is the third cam in that engine [the decompression part breaks] so we will see if a part in a box that says "made in china" out lasts one that says "briggs and Stratton"I hope so.to be continued:
