First of all this is not a kit, all I got was a package of seeds. The directions on the package do not tell you to cut an end off to sprout them but fortunately I had read the description and it mentioned that so go by the description on the site and not the package. I had to use pruning shears to nick the end of the seed because the seeds are very hard and scissors wouldn’t work. The seeds sprouted very quickly and have been growing and doing well for the last couple of weeks but they don’t have flowers yet. So far so good.

I have 5 seeds that have sprouted so far. So I dont have a photo to share. But all the seeds i have seen all look good. The packaging is informative and good as well. The sprouts ive started have been growing for a little over a week and has gotten maybe half a inch long. So far pleased with results

These seeds are nicely packaged and appear to be of good quality. Detailed instructions are included to explain how to grow the seeds. The process is a bit more complicated than I anticipated, with the need to keep moving the plant into different water depths until it reaches maturity. You will also want to be sure that your house or outside temperatures are warm when you start, since the seeds require warm water. Once sprouted, a good light source is important if these will be kept inside. You will also need to have the correct soil/medium ready when you get to that stage of the process. Because of this, I am waiting for the outside temperatures here to be consistently warm before starting the sprouting process.

I'm currently growing four of these, and all four have started germinating! I would recommend first sanding or filing down the hard outer coat, soaking in water for a day, then going in with pruning shears to nick the seeds. Attempting to nick them before they were softened ended up in more self injury than actual seed nicking.

A nice quantity and variety of seeds. They are well packed in the package, and did not see any damage or mold. I have only started planting these, but they look as if they will turn out beautiful. Easy to plant in individual containers, and the care instructions are awesome.

I have had these soaking per the instructions for two week and none have sprouted. The listing instructions say to trim the end off while the package doesn't mention it. I had to wait almost a week of soaking to even be able to trim some as they are so hard and small, none of my scissors, knives or shears could get through them. I have half cut and half not, I have been changing the water twice a day (warm water per the instructions) and I have one sitting getting plenty of sun and one on our kitchen counter and neither bowl have a single sprouted lotus.I'll keep trying and update if anything grows, but for now these seem to be duds.

I had good success with these. Not many floaters at all and almost every single one sprouted and is growing well. Before planting these you will need to cut or sand down one end. I can't wait to see these bloom!

The seeds are good quality and I'm looking to get a >90% germination rate. The instructions and pictures are a bit simplistic, though, and I recommend doing a search for "IWGS lotus care sheet" or something similar to learn more about lotus care if you're not already familiar. For example, several of the pictures show lotuses apparently growing in fishbowls or small tanks but there is no indication that these are miniature lotuses and so are probably best suited for growing in ponds and pools rather than bowls, and the instructions don't address how to prepare their soil. Nicking the dimpled end is sometimes easier with sanding or filing rather than using a cutting tool.
