I have heard for a while from model railroaders and other plastic modelers that these work similar to Q-tips. While they come in different sizes they are much different than Q-tips and really not suitable for the kind of work that I expected to use them for. They are absorbent and do have uses outside of Dentistry but they are really not what I hoped for based on what I heard about their usability for hobbies. That doesn't mean they wouldn't be great for a dentist because that's what they're made for!

We are actually using these in a dental practice rather than for arts and crafts and they are good quality and work well for the intended purpose. The price is actually very reasonable for these compared to dental supply companies when you figure in the total cost with shipping and these arrive more quickly thanks to being delivered from Amazon.

This is one of the many things I have gotten that I'm using for unintended purposes. I got the #80 large points with the intention of using them for applying tiny amounts of glue or paint, such as for painting eyes on HO scale people. For glue use the amount of liquid glue they pick up is minuscule. So when the need arises I'll be ready.

While these have a specific dental function they are so very much more than that in a creative person’s hands: that dot of paint or glue in that particular hard to reach place; miniature fence posts; many other things.

I got these to apply paint precisely on projects. I was using toothpicks, but these are pointier. They are small picks made of paper, they should work fine for their intended purpose.

#45 size roughly corresponds to large size paper points, which is one of the sizes I use.Good quality and competitive price.
