I like wire rope for hanging up signs and items of moderate weight. Usually the wire rope has to be clamped with aluminum sleeves that secure it at a fixed length, with these clamps the length of the wire can be adjusted with a simple pull or push of a button. The wire simply slides into the clamp and a ball bearing lock inside grabs onto the rope to keep it from pulling back. The holding strength is good enough for most tasks but for some extra peace of mind I would add a stop at the end of the wire. The clamp is a bit on the noticeable size so that is something to consider before installing.

These fasteners work well on 1/16" cable.Pros-- easy and fast to adjust to length or to enlarge a loop end without repeated cutting and fitting-seems to be a nicely polished ss metal- no rust?-sturdy and strong grab of the cable-much faster application than a yolk or saddle type of fastener, and no tools requiredCons--there is no load limit restriction on these clamps. I wasn't able to break one by putting a load on it but would not trust it for something suspended over my head- they are considerably larger than the standard yolk or saddle type of fastener I normally use ... it may hold a wall hanging farther from the wall than you want- for trouble-free insertion through the clamp, you need a touch of solder on the cable end- if the cable becomes even slightly frayed or a wire strays from the rope, you won't get it through the clamp.Conclusion- it is ideal for a quick installation

I bought these to secure guy wires for a large Halloween decoration and these work great. They are easily adjustable and seem sturdy enough for light duty use. I was able to pull them tight and they stayed put. I never subjected them to any heavy loads since they were being used to stabilize the decoration rather than hold it up.
