so i like these calculators because they are large and do not require batteries. they are solar powered, however you can still put a AA battery inside of it. the color is nice and the buttons are large and easy to press. not sure what most of the top buttons do. i needed to input a negative number and couldnt figure out how to, so we just put 0 minus the number and that worked, but i wish it just had a negative option. they are whatever i wouldnt recommend them if you need to work with negative numbers

Big Button Handheld Calculator for Office, Home, and School (Solar plus one AAA battery).It is not an exaggeration to say, “As a basic 4-function desktop calculator, there is nothing not to like about this device.“ It has a very easy-to-read 12-digit LCD display with large keys. In addition to the 4 basic add, subtract, multiply, and divide functions, it has the typical MRC, M+, and M- memory keys, as well as % and ON/AC keys. It also has a few atypical keys not found on all 4-function calculators – a backspace key instead of CE key (Clear Entry), a GT key (Grand Total), and a MU (Mark Up) key. The backspace key allows you to clear one digit at a time, and the GT key allows you to add several groups of numbers separately and get a subtotal for each group as well as a grand total of all the groups combined. It also has an OFF key as well as an Auto-shutoff after about 10 minutes of non-use. This calculator is the perfect size for a desktop but small and light enough to hold in your hand. However, I would not try to squeeze it into a pocket or purse.This desk calculator is just right for my home office, and my wife keeps one in the kitchen junk drawer for those times when she needs to add a bunch of numbers. It’s perfect for any number of tasks -- balancing my checkbook, doing my taxes, adding up the items on a shopping list, computing sales tax, etc. Love the convenience of the backspace key … if you make a mistake entering a number, you won’t have to clear and reenter the entire number.This calculator can be used in sunlight or artificial light without a battery as long as you don’t accidentally cover the solar panel for more than a few seconds. However, it takes a single AAA battery (not included) as a backup – this is optional, but well-worth it.This package of 8 is a great value. It would be a steal for just 4 calculators. BTW, each calculator is individually boxed if you’d like to give a few as a gift. Or keep them all and put one in every room like the reading glasses you can never find. With the large display and keys, you might not even need those reading glasses.

If I had paid 26 dollars for one calculator, I'd rate these as crap. A 26 dollar calculator these days should be good enough for a NASA engineer, have crisp keypad response, do advanced calculations, be very robust in its construction, etc.But I'm getting 8 calculators for 26 bucks ($3.25 apiece, according to my new calculator.)So for 3.25, I figure "basic calculator that I wouldn't necessarily expect to get a lifetime of use out of" is a pretty good bargain.If you've got 8 employees who need a basic + - * / % calculator on their desks, 8 kids in your elementary math class, or any other 8 places you need a calculator that only does the basics, you could pay a lot more and do a lot worse than these.In a somewhat dim room, the solar panel is useless and you'll need a AA battery in the thing to make it work. In sunshine or a decently lit office, the solar panel is sufficient to make it go.I'd stick to basic functions, the MU as shown in the very limited instruction printed on the box make no sense to me whatsoever, and the instructions refer to keys that are not there (CE).The Grand Total function keeps a running result.10x10=100 (Grand total is 100)Then without clearing...5+5=10 (Grand total is now 110)Can be a useful function, can also trip you if you do it wrong.

I bought these for Operation Christmas Child boxes. Nice, solid calculators, perfect for teens/kids. Large buttons and display. Great price! Would definitely recommend and will buy again next Christmas!
