We've been wanting a digital frame for a long time, finally settled on this $50 model from Arktronic, and so far we are pleased. From the start, you should know that we did not (and will not) install the app for this frame. I don't like to have a phone full of sketchy foreign apps that all want access to my photos, contacts, etc., so I try to avoid them. This frame can totally be used without the app, although some might like the connectivity and ability to share photos, that's not important to us. It takes photos/videos/music from several sources, and so far I have ONLY tried loading them through the microSD card, which has worked fine.I dumped a couple hundred photos onto the card, popped it into the frame, and immediately was treated to a great-looking slide show. Photos on the 8" screen are crisp, clear, and colorful. Several transitions can be chosen from or cycled through randomly. No straight "cross-fade" which would have been nice, but the transitions are secondary to the photos, which it does nicely. I also loaded some MP3's onto the same card, the frame was able to find them, and play them, either with or without the slide show playing. Audio from the small frame speaker is less than stellar, but it's acceptable for quiet music, voice, etc.The frame has a "sleep" feature, which is really nice. After a few minutes (you set this), the screen goes black and then wakes up again when a sensor detects movement. You can also display a clock in one of several facades, local weather, etc., if you are connected to your wi-fi. The screen is touch-enabled so you don't need remotes or apps or anything, you can just control everything right from the touchscreen. A moveable stand lets you set orientation as vertical or horizontal, depending on the majority of the photos you are displaying.Honestly, for 50 bucks, I think this is a great choice for those who are looking for a digital frame but are intimidated by some of the more complicated options out there. It looks nice, photos look great, and everyone loves looking back at all the great memories. Love it!

First time owning a digital frame and I must say that it is very impressive! The frame itself is basically a small tablet with a calendar, weather, alarms, and video player! It has wifi connectivity and an app that makes transferring images easy! There are additional ports for USB-C or SD cards for other means of sending data to the frame, but overall, the process was very easy to me.I was planning on using a pc to imitate the same effect but with a smart frame like this one, it isn't even necessary anymore!I would say that this design uses a pretty bulky frame. There are definitely more sleeky designs out there, but they are also twice the price! For what you pay, this is a very robust piece of tech that adds a touch of class to your home!

After setting this digital picture frame up and using it for a while, I'm in agreement with most of the other reviewers, this is an excellent easy to set up and use device.I do not have a smart phone, so I used my (Android) tablet to set this frame up and had no problems, although like another reviewer mentioned the QR code did not work, but it was easy to download the ap and set it up by simply searching for the VPhoto Ap.Frame connected quickly to my network and stays connected. Not sure what the maximum distance is, but it works fine up to 30 feet. The picture quality is outstanding, very clear and sharp. Can't say much for the audio, but I'm sure the speaker is extremely small and doing the best it can. Definitely would prefer it not be on maximum out of the box.Although I have not tried all of the features of this device. other reviewers have commented on them sufficiently for me to be satisfied that when I get around to it, I'm sure I'll be happy.Nice unit, recommended.

I'll start with the downsides, of which there are several:It should be made clear that this is a "smart frame". While it is possible to skip the network connection and use the frame offline, it resists the effort, with a home screen full of placeholder content. It says it can be easily hooked to a computer via USB-C, and it will be seen as a hard drive. I could not get this to work on three different computers; none of them were able to see the device. On the topic of USB-C, this device would benefit from being USB-C powered instead of using a DC wall wart; that would give many more options to how people use this and where. With the downsides out of the way, if you embrace the network connected features of the device it's quiet easy to use. Within five minutes of unboxing I turned the frame into a clock, took a picture of it with my phone, and used the app to upload it. It was easy and there are a multitude of ways other than the app to get photos on the device.During setup, it has a QR code to download the app, at least on my platform that didn't work. But it was easy enough to find in the app store and get started.I like the smart/online features, it gives me local weather at a glance, a calendar, and clock, a perfect set of featurtes for a frame on my desk.

This is a pretty nice digital frame. It connects to your wifi so you can wirelessly add pictures to the digital frame's photo album. This makes updating pictures extremely easy from the app.You have an option to manually add photos using the sd card. You are able to display photos in landscape or portrait mode.If you really wanted to you could stay connected to the internet to get weather and other online servicesIt helps that the screen is a touchscreen, so you can easily navigate the device. One small issue is sometimes the device does lose network connectivity for no reason.Overall, this is a clear digital picture frame and it makes life so much easier to display your memories
