This cable is perfect for simple electrical work, the connection is stable. It’s sturdy enough but still flexible.

This wire is not 8 Gauge maybe 12 Gauge. The top wire in the picture is true 8 Gauge, the bottom wire is from this kit.

Exactly as described and worked perfectly for the intended purpose to hard wire a 120v converter in my vehicle. I had to purchase a bigger crimping tool but it'll come in handy.

Nice wire. The covering is thick and should protect the wires nicely. It has very many strands of wire making it very flexible but also somewhat difficult to crimp on the terminals to create a secure connection. I was required to tin the wires first and then the crimp worked much better.

I ordered some "8 guage" wire to run some electrical from my car battery but upon closer inspection (compared to some 10 Guage that I was replacing) i found that the actual wire was in fact smaller than the 10 AWG . Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that the lower the number the thicker the wire. So I was a little disappointed to find a super thick jacket on a thinner wire. It makes me think I should have just kept the 10 AWG wire unfortunately I can't do that now. And now I have already cut all the wires to length and put all the connectors on the ends. I wish I would have done a side by side comparison right away instead of just assuming the Guage was correct, I mean it does say "8 GUAGE" ...not 8 AWG ..HMMM i wonder if that's the difference? Other than that the wire is fairly good quality... for not being silicone jacketed. It says that it's PVC and it is soft to the touch and very pliable and not stiff at all. The other thing that was disappointing was it came with heat shrink tubing that is way too small... I spent 15 minutes trying to wrestle a piece on the end of the wire before deciding to just go to the hardware store and buy some that slipped easily over the wire just so I could get project done in reasonable amount of time. The only thing that wasn't a complete disappointment with this wire purchase was the price and that's just because I couldn't find anything cheaper. But at a buck a foot it was still more than i hoped to pay. I think probably next time I need to buy something like this I'm just going to suck it up and buy some good silicone wire and pay the premium price. It doesn't always work out going for the best deal. Lesson learned.

I purchased this cable for trolling motor application so it needed to have the full current capacity of legitimate 8 gauge cable. The cable packaging said was 8 gauge, and the cable itself was labeled 8 gauge. The cable conductor visually looked thinner than some 10 gauge I had on hand so I found a wire measuring device to check it out. After measuring it, it was indeed thinner than my 10 gauge cable as other commenters have also described. Returning and disappointed in Amazon for continuing to carry this after all the complaints of misrepresentation and the potential fire hazard that comes with undersized cable.

The insulator is over double the thickness of the wire, reducing electrical interference and small nicks will not expose wire. Very good for power. Would even make a great speaker wire. The insulator seams to be a rubber like material and bends easily to maneuver through the dash and interior trim.

People complained about the size of the wire. So I did what any reasonable person would do and measure. Now, the following is the actual size of 8 gauge wire...Actual - Diameter in inches: 0.1285 inActual - Diameter in millimeters: 3.2636 mmWhat I measured was well within the margin of error. Red was 0.1260 in and 3.19 mm. Black was 0.1270 in and 3.22 mm. What I think is the issue is that people see the thick insulation and what appears to be a small wire. What I received is exactly what is advertised. Don't go by your eyes people. Measure and save yourself headaches from sending something back you didn't have to.

Do not buy it is marked/stamped as 8 Gauge on the wire but it is i believe one gauge smaller more like a 12 gauge compared to my 10 gauge MinnKota trolling motor wiring but I’ve also heard they get very hot and I see why lol🔥⛵️🔥

Great value. Felt like the quality was a bit less than the old 8 gauge wire I was pairing it with but it will do the job and was half the price of the wire from PA
