I Used this to insulate my battery box in my volvo. The battery sets at the back of the engine compartment, and although it's in a plastic box, it sets above and to the left of the turbo. After a drive, when parked, the heat soak would cause the battery to reach temps would approach 150 degrees f. This has dropped temps by more than 20 degrees.

Came a little late. Product is good…thinner but solid. Just enough to cover outer stove pipes.

I used this Heat Shield Alum Foil Mat to put on a panel between A/C and generator that was placed to close by out builder?? It was very easy to work with. The foil came off with the tape they used to roll making 6 inches useless. The foil itself is thinner than the foil I use in my kitchen to cook. It is not waterproof, I tested. I had to caulk all ends to avoid mold. We'll see how it does with the heat from the generator. I would spend a little more for better product next time.

I used this product to wrap around the exhaust pipe of my furnace to prevent people from getting hurt. However, after carefully wrapping around the pipe, the surface of this product is still as hot as the pipe. No use for me at all.

I currently have a chunk of this wrapped around my A/C evaporator housing that sits in my engine bay on my truck. The factory box had minimal heat shielding and it got hot to the touch after a short while driving. That definitely can't be helping getting cold(er) air into the cab.I know the results are probably minimal, but when it was exposed and readily applied, then why not?I can't feel the box temperature to compare now as it is covered, but just looking at the density of this insulation, I would assume it would only do good.

The product listing make it seem like it's a roll - it's not. It's just a small sample 1x2', which is mentioned on the product listing too. This is good enough for patching or covering something small, but nowhere near enough to insulate the hood or anything similar. $19 at the time of writing for this small patch also seems like an excessive price. In terms of thickness, it seems a bit thicker but generally comparable to what I already have on my car. For a full disclaimer, I have not done the high temperature tests.

Using it to insulate a fuel pump and filter to prevent vapor lock, seems to do the job
