I needed a hexagon shaped lid and they are impossible to find. So I thought I would try this. When it came I had my doubts. My husband thought it was stupid and said his idea of building a lid was better. But, wives, (and let’s be honest, husbands) know that will never happen! I’ve had the tank since February. 🙄 so he went to bed and I put this together in less than 15 minutes. I ran the first magnetic strip around the entire tank. I had to go around the outside edge instead of the top edge as the directions say to do, but it worked fine. When it came to the pieces that hold the net on, I had to cut each of those for each section. They would not stick when trying to just wrap them around all six edges, but also maybe the directions say to do that anyway… the YouTube QR code would not work.

When I bought this kit, I was so excited, I thought, good I finally found something to be able to customize for lid and it will blend well with my tank! I read the instructions and watched the little video that sold me in the first place, BUT the only thing that was easy was the initial adhesive magnet strip that tapes to the tank! After that step everything else was a HOT MESS!!! NOTHING after step two worked for me!!! I tried for about an hour to get the pieces to connect to one another, to no avail! Well you see (exhibit A pic above) where this mess of a kit ended up, IN THE TRASH SMDH! Fool me once, shame on you and you won’t get a second chance!!! Total waste of my money, buyer beware!!

After struggling with multiple different lid styles for our 5 gallon tank, this kit truly came to the rescue! The how-to video & written instructions were easy to understand, making the set up simple and straightforward. The installation process took less than an hour from start to finish, looks great, and was completely customizable! We love the black/brown colors, matches our aquarium aesthetic perfectly. ☺️

Leider muss ich sagen, dass ich von der magnetischen Fisch-Aquarium-Abdeckung enttäuscht bin. Die Idee hinter dem Produkt ist großartig, aber die Ausführung lässt zu wünschen übrig. Die Magnetstreifen sind extrem schwach und das Netz sowie die PVC-Streifen lösen sich ständig ab. Alle Strips sind aus einem Material gefertigt, das richtig unflexibel ist. Dies führt dazu, dass das Netz und andere Bauteile ständig ins Wasser fallen. Um das Produkt überhaupt nutzen zu können, bräuchte es deutlich stärkere Magnetstreifen. Leider ist dies ein absoluter Fehlkauf und ich kann es nicht weiterempfehlen.

Super easy to assemble. Easily customizes to any tank Size and if it can keep out my cats from our fish tank than its doing its job.

You get plenty of mesh, but only just barely enough of the various tapes you'll need to fit the perimeter of a 20-gallon Long, so you might want to opt for a bigger kit than you think you need. It also helps to have a pair of strong kitchen or gardening sheers (the tapes are pretty tough; regular scissors won't cut it).If your tank is not rectangular, or if you need to work around a filter, it CAN be done, but you'll need to plan it out and make sure the mesh is pullled taut so that it doesn't flop into the tank. Example: I was able to make mine escape-proof (necessary, if you have snails or shrimp) by using some of the remnants of magnetic and ridged tapes to attach a separate piece of mesh over the filter (one edge is actually fitted with magnetic tape to the filter cover, and the rest are attached on three sides to rectangular hole in the mesh through which the filter fits.).
