It's still a work in progress, but the shop is mostly finished. It's a workshop/man cave. When I designed this, I intended to have LED strip lights installed in the walls and ceiling. The loft was a toss-up but decided on hex-shaped lights for the ceiling of that. These LED channels work perfectly in drywall installations. Because this was a new build, the channels were installed at the ends of the drywall sheets, which are thinner at the ends which makes the channels perfectly level with the finished surface. I am very pleased with the finished product. For the record, all the LED strip lights and the hex lights in the pictures are RGBIC lights from Govee. These LED channels are wide enough for two strips so I mounted the single strip to one side of the channel. The lens diffuses the light well enough that you can't tell by looking that they're not centered. The LED's will show up just a bit, but overall, I get a nice evenly lit flow of light when the strips are animated.Rule of thumb: Always tape the full interior of the channels with painter's tape before using drywall mud, and sprayed texture and paint to finish your ceiling or wall. You need to protect the inside from edge to edge to ensure it's clean inside, and the lens will fit properly. My ceiling was sprayed for both texture and paint. Removing the tape wasn't much fun, but the result is well worth the effort. Edges aren't perfect, but a little touch up of what's noticeable will fix that.

Install was mot that difficult like some reviews claim. The problem is that the sole purpose of the “milky” or frosted cover is to make a smooth transition where you have a solid light line. Not even remotely close. Might as well not use the cover. See image.

I saw this concept at a high end light store, but the prices were outrageous (in the thousands per strip). I bought these and hooked up to a transformer built into the dimmer for a fraction of the price. I put them along a stairwell, in the ceiling of my bay windows, and along my shower ceilings for a fraction of the price.
