The only reason I'm giving this one star is that I can't give it 0. I will never know if I can get Value for my money because it arrived without a blade or even an attachment to hold a blade.

First, the packaging was not or average quality. The saw frame, blade and miter box were in a plastic baggie that was not sealed. The nuts and bolts were floating around in the box. The box was way too big for this item and the tape sealing the box was split. I was concerned that parts of the saw were missing. The miter box was smaller than I expected. I’m not sure it is big enough for my purposes.

This was sent by Amazon in a padded envelope with only a plastic pouch covering it.The saw cannot be used with the mitre box as the slits in the mitre box are too narrow to put the saw blade in them.Totally bizarre. Cheap and tacky. Avoid

I read some of the other reviews and saw that some people had a problem with the sawblade coming loose. I had no problem with that. I had to flip over the blade because the teeth were pointing inward for shipping which was a good idea, then tightened it up and it never came loose the whole time. I made several cuts for something I was building (a cell phone cradle).I did have one problem initially though, and that was that the hacksaw blade did not fit in the miter box grooves. I had to enlarge the grooves slightly. This can be done by drawing the saw back and forth several times until it gets easier to move in the grooves. Once that was done I had no problem. You do have to be very careful though because after all this is a hacksaw that cuts metal, and that means of course it can cut aluminum very easily. If you let the blade drift to the side a little while cutting, it will dig into the sides of the grooves and make them much larger. If that does happen though, when you make future cuts just make sure the blade is positioned toward just one side of the two grooves you will be using. That way you can get a clean and accurate 90 degree or 45 degree cut.I think I'd give the saw 5 stars and the aluminum miter box 4 stars if I could. I really like the saw. It's better than the real thin kind of saw we usually see paired with the miter box because it's easier to hold and apply some force while cutting. The other kind of saw is very flimsy although it makes a thinner cut.

You get what you pay for i suppose, its almost impossible ti even turn the blade around as the parts scatter everywhere due to the size. Needed it for a little space that called for something this thin. The blade never stays intact, can even saw a thin nail. Dont waste tour 10 bucks

don’t expect to cut anything quickly. I had to work for quite a time to get through 19x19mm moulding. If you’ve got lots of cuts to make, I’d suggest investing a bit more. And extra star because the mitre part was useful.

I use the mini mitre box to cut craft sticks (cause I can't spell tongue deppressors, so sayeth the phone). you need to put a piece of wood in the bottom or you're going to ruin the saw blade. The box Is made of aluminum. The box is taller on one side so you can hang that "lip" on the edge of a table and have a more stable work surface. The saw is 6" long so you could feasibly bake it in a cake, but it does better with small pieces of wood. The saw frame feels a little flimsy, but overall, it does the job. My mini picture frames have gotten much better since I got this. I'm pleased with the purchase.
