I've used this for the 1st time, and it worked great. The pot is lightweight stainless steel and has flattened top and bottom handle. These do get hot as there isn't insulation on the handle, so use heat protection potholders/gloves when cooking. There is the strainer basket that tucks inside the pot with a swing handle that fits fully inside and a flat lid. I love the pour spout on the pot too for emptying the oil easily for storage in another container or vessel so I can strain particles out of the oil after cooking.I cooked 2 large chicken drumsticks with enough oil to cover them almost to the bone nub. I did use a thermometer to determine when the oil was hot enough for the frying. It performed perfectly for the fry. Teh bottom is very flat and would be great for induction and electric burners more than my gas grates. However, I was careful in the placement on my stove to prevent tip overs.I noticed some oil spots covering the vessel after the fry, but these can be easily cleaned up like any other cooking vessel. Overall, I recommend this little pot for very small fry cooking as single serve portions.Suggestions for improvement:Update to a rounded circumference hollow handle to slow heat transfer and minimize a hot handle burn.Add engraved fill lines inside the vessel as a guide on how much oil to use. Many inexperienced cooks would likely need the guidance to prevent overflow of hot oil.Offer a thermometer that hangs inside the pot so the cook can easily see the oil temperature for a cook session. This suggestion would cost more but I think they add value that people would be willing to pay the increased price over this version.

Nice compact size but you can still fry plenty since it’s deep and you don’t get grease splatter all over the place, loved that it came with an excellent strainer so you can store oil without any particles left from the food

I cook for one in a small kitchen with little storage space and didn't use my regular fryer which is great for a family, but required too much oil cooking small portions. This stainless pot is the perfect size for frying small portions; it uses less oil, drains and stores used oil for future use, and requires little storage space! I absolutely love it! It's big enough that the oil never boils over the top and easily frys a single portion of fish, fries, onion rings or chicken tenders. The drainage basket is an added bonus providing safe and easy removal from hot oil. All the parts function well and easily wash-up like new! This is a great value at a fair price and I highly recommend the product especially for single seniors. Makes a great gift too!

It works, but for very small portions. I tried cutting my own french fries and dropping them and I tried frozen nuggets. For the fries, the potato was too long so the tops of it didn't cook and I couldn't add more oil, because when it fries, the oil expands and sizzles. It's great for what it does. just don't expect to cook much in it. Short french fries and a very small quantity of anything. It's such a small unit that you cant get tongs in to separate the foot. So the stuff on the bottom cooked more. A very uneven cook. I still think it's a great idea to have a travel size fryer. It comes with a strainer and a lid to keep your oil clean when not in use. But this thing is no more bigger than a teapot so it may not be for everyone.
