I needed a Secret Santa gift for a co-worker who wants to learn how to crochet, and, while the shipping speed was reasonable, these weren't going to arrive in time. So I gave her a similar set I had recently purchased and kept these for myself.The packaging was nice. and the box arrived in good shape. Everything was laid out nicely in a thin plastic tray, and to be honest, I had my doubts about it all going into the pouch -- but it did! The cactuses on it are cute, but I doubt it will stay white around me. The hooks are a nice, but basic ergonomic style that can be held in a variety of ways, and it contains 13 different sizes!I love the good amount and variety of the stitch markers and yarn needles, and that they each come in their own little container to keep them corraled in the pouch. I may not use the measuring tape a lot, but when you need one, you NEED one, and it doesn't take up much space, so it's a definite keeper. The scissors are not very robust, and I can see light between the blades because they're slightly bowed out, but they still cut my yarn quite well, plus, they're small enough to fit in the pouch, but still be easy to find. I'm not likely to use the row counter, I would forget to change it and be just as screwed as without. LOLI have been crocheting for 50 years, and I'm very pleased with this set. It has everything I need to drop in my purse or a project bag and be able to crochet almost anything with it.It's almost overkill for a beginner, but it's such a great price, the convenience of getting it all at once can't be beat.

For the price, this is a decent set. Maybe for a beginner.The hooks do not have a smooth finish (pictured) and snag yarn very easily, that is my biggest complaint. It almost feels like trying to crochet with very fine grit sandpaper.Handles are comfortable. I was worried the sizes would wear off with use, and was pleasantly surprised to see they were engraved on the other side.I know the listing says the bag will be chosen at random, but I was still kind of sad to receive the "old" bag option.Everything pictured was included, but the hooks are very low quality, I've gotten better from the dollar store unfortunately.

I just got these and couldn't wait to get started. They are very comfortable to hold and easy to crochet with. The handle is very ergonomic, soft and light. The yarn slides smoothly but doesn't slip off easily and it's easy to keep the chains the same size. I am not sure how many of the hooks I will use but they came with a nice sized bag to keep them all in. The scissors are crap but thats ok, I have plenty of scissors and I don't need the tape measure either but I DO recommend this little set.

I bought this set for the hook handle and they were comfortable but the top of the handle has holes which are not smooth and takes some getting used to. Same goes for the hook end, they do not glide easily and I considered sanding them back but gradually got used to them. The non plastic safety pins were all slightly rusty and I threw them out. Stitch markers were disappointing, they were rough and a few caught onto the yarn now and again, threw those out. Love the plastic safety pins, they are fantastic. Really like the little case to store the needles, a nice touch. Overall, I am happy with the price I paid for the hooks and consider everything else a bonus.

This is definitely the best product for the price. The selling factor for me was the needle sizes ranging from 2.5mm-10mm. Most other kits online have a smaller range (typically only up to 8mm).The hooks are almost identical to other name brands on the market. The yellow “Boye” brand hook (shown in the picture) was the first one I bought and was around $8 at my local Michael’s. And to mention, a set of 10 stitch markers being ~$4.The only notable difference with using these hooks is that the handle is significantly smaller and doesn’t have a bulge at the end (as shown in the picture). Some might like the weight and bulkiness to their hooks, which these don’t have. I’ve personally found them easier to use and maneuver.This kit comes with everything you need and more for crocheting. The factor that brings this product from a 4-star to 5-star review, is the hook sizes ranging from 2.5-10mm. A lot of “chunky” yarn calls for hook sizes ranging from 8-10mm. As mentioned earlier, most kits only go up to 8mm. This set gives you a larger range of yarn types to choose from, eliminating the need to buy single hooks for slightly larger yarn sizes.This also comes with a huge variety of great-quality metal tapestry needles, and a secure little vile to store them in. This is another costly purchase if you choose to buy a set from your local craft store.The ONLY thing wrong with this product is that the little blue stitch counter doesn’t rotate on one side (ie. defective/broken). I’m not going to hold that against the product as a whole because the main reason someone would buy this set is for the hooks, as far as I’m concerned everything else included was just extra anyway.Some of the reviews complain about the size of the bag, it is definitely small. I’ve actually ended up making that my project bag for storing hooks being used on projects and small things (ex. tapestry needles, measuring tape, stitch markers etc.) while working on them.Overall, I am very satisfied with this product! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a set of hooks!
