I am working on a large bunk/loft bed project and using black bolts in black hardware brackets. I am using button bolts as much as possible as they are smooth and won't provide edges to catch clothing as people pass by the beds. These nuts are the perfect accompaniment to the button bolts. Looks clean and designed that way on purpose.

There are not many applications where a nut-lock washer-flat washer combination is better than a serrated flange lock nut, so always reach for these. Usually I don’t even have to hold the nut with a wrench while I tighten the bolt with an impact driver, since the serrations will keep the nut from spinning. The threads are well-formed and the nuts fit on my stock of 10-24 bolts perfectly. Recommended.

These look well made, easily threading onto a 4-40 bolt. The black finish is pretty shiny. The flange serrations are decent enough for the job. The only issue is that the plastic box they came in cracked in shipping. I threw it out and used other storage.
