Can’t get it to hook onto my laptop without falling forward. After trying for about 15mins I got frustrated with so I haven’t tried again. When I do figure it out and get mounted to something stable I’ll update my review*UpdateOk light screw hole is stripped therefore it will not screw and mount onto the base. Return window was only until Jan 31st which royally sucks for me AMAZON! Now I’m outta money twice because I can’t get a refund and I have to buy another ring light that I need for my job.Bought replacement Ring light that is not only bigger, has way more light options, light colors, came with tripod and a remote. List Price almost $20 more than this and the sale price was $2 less. Got it from Walmart it arrived in 2 days and I'm using it with the base that came with this one so it'll attach to my desk.

Not as big (round circumference) as expected and quite flimsy when you try to manipulate during a call. Kept popping off the computer frame.Light is quite good though

The title said it was 6.3", but seeing it surprised me with how little it was. Ended up being the perfect fit for between my monitors. Max brightness (pictured) is bright enough to fix backlight without over-exposing me on calls. The remote is super simple to use to adjust and swap between.Definitely recommend for anyone with a monitor stand. It doesn't come on a tripod, just a clamp. If you have a thin laptop or a borderless, I do NOT recommend putting this on there. The clamp pressure is pretty stiff, and if you clamp it at the wrong angle it could damage your screen.

Ordered this for Zoom calls I have to make from a dim corner of my room. Now I don't look like someone calling from a fallout bunker or a submarine. Two of the three pre-set lighting temperatures don't jibe well with natural skin tones, in my experience. The daylight is too blue/green and the warm is too red (unless you LIKE looking like you have a bright orange spray tan like he-who-shall-not-be-named). The balanced setting works perfectly for me. For the price, it's perfect and convenient. Just clip to your monitor, plug into a spare USB port and go. Not very durable, though. Stopped working after a few months.

The clamp is very strong; I had a bit of a challenge squeezing it open even with two hands! (Mind you, my hands aren't as strong as they were when I was younger.) Using the inline controller for settings and power is easy.I have it clamped to the very top edge of my flat-screen monitor, so it sits well above me and is angled for a good effect. The variations in light temperature (warm-cool) and brightness are adequate -- probably not professional-grade, but just fine for making videos, video calls, and doing online conferences.

Easy to plug in out of the box. Good versatility with three color temperatures and multiple brightness settings. Perhaps best suited for a one-way presentation/webinar where you are providing prepared remarks, rather than an extended meeting with live interaction; I found that the light can shine bright in your own face, but it doesn't necessarily produce much difference on the screen for your viewers unless you turn it up to near maximum brightness, which isn't conducive to interacting with your own screen. Also have a minor concern with clamping the device to a monitor that has a small frame; wouldn't want to create a pinch on the screen that would permanently damage the image. So, if you have a monitor with minimal frame, I would look for something else to clamp the light to.

Spending so much time on live Zoom calls and FB Live. I learned to dislike the darkness of the end product because of lamp lighting and overhead lighting not good either.Decided to try out a ring light. My greatest concern was the clamp and if it would open wide enough to fit on my monitor. The marketing photo shows the ring light attached to a laptop monitor that might be all of .5 inched thick. My 10 year old desk top monitors are much thicker than current desktop monitors available today. Did the math and took a chance. The clamp opens far enough and is holding fine.Since the ring light sits next to the camera, the lighting on my face is not even, a slight shadow.I discovered the mount will adjust and I can position the light to sit over the camera. Much better light effect.I am still working on the three different light colors and the various options for brightness. I am confident it will be a keeper and see a lot of use.

This is a nice ring light, with everything I wanted - multiple color temperatures, lightweight, perfect size, USB powered, bright enough for Zoom close-ups, long enough cord, standard camera-mount thread. The clip has a great swivel mount, but the size is huge overkill. And the spring is so strong it is almost impossible to open with one hand, especially since the mount is on one side of the handle, so there is less than an inch exposed for gripping. I wouldn't consider clipping it to my laptop, it would crush the screen. But it could clamp onto any kind of standup object above/behind the screen. Both pieces look well made and functional. Since they have standard camera-mount threads, it was easy to put the ring light on a little bean-bag mount I had for my camera (shown in the photo), or it could go on any tripod or other camera mount. And I may use the clip for a camera someday. Definitely worth hanging onto.

I use this for work since it's winter now and it gets dark during meetings (my room light is behind me in the ceiling).Cord: My laptop sits under my desk (and is attached to monitors on my desk) so I really needed a long cord for this to work. This has a super long cord.Controls: The controls are nice and easy to use. The on button is lit up so when you're sitting in the dark you don't have to hunt for the switch. I like the warm setting, dimmed a bit, because it's not blinding and harsh on your eyes.Clamp: The clamp clip is TIGHT, if you need it for something much wider than a laptop/phone width, this will work but could be a little hard to get clipped.Size: This thing is HUGE. It's much larger than I anticipated, 6".
