About this item

  • The 4WD axle actuator housing, also called axle disconnect housing, is part of differential that houses the gears and shift fork required to lock both front axles together. It works together with transfer case to send torque to all four wheels. Most of the time, the vehicle is in RWD.When 4WD is engaged, transfer case engages the front driveshaft. It’s still necessary, though, to connect two front constant velocity (CV) axle shafts. This is done via a front differential and the axle actuator.
  • Due to its location underneath the vehicle, the axle actuator housing can be exposed to dirt, road salt, and other pieces of road debris. These can damage the actuator housing, which will make it less effective at protecting the moving parts inside. Then, dirt can get inside of the actuator to cause bearing wear or lubricant leakage. Wear can also simply occur over time from use. If you try to shift the vehicle into 4WD at speed, the high forces involved might crack the actuator housing.
  • This 4WD AxleAactuator Housing Fits for the Following Vehicles: 2004-2007 Buick Rainier, 2002-2009 Chevro-let Chevy Trailblazer, 2002-2006 Chevy Trailblazer EXT, 2002-2009 GMC Envoy, 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2004-2005 GMC Envoy XUV, 2003-2008 Isuzu Ascender, 2002-2004 Oldsmobile Bravada.
  • Customers can find the product you need accurately according to the OE number. Replacement part number: 12471623, 12471625,12471627,12471628,12471629,12471633,12471636,12479081,12479197,12479302,15801507, 26036092, 26053326, 600-115.

How to replace the 4WD axle actuator housing?

1. Raise & support the vehicle properly, remove the passenger front wheel, splash shield, & then remove the passenger front CV axle.

2.remove the electric axle actuator from the axle disconnect assembly by removing the 2 bolts and electrical connector. The axle actuator has gone through just as many cycles as the disconnect and if the disconnect failed, well then the axle actuator is probably right behind it.

3. Remove the wire harness clip located on the axle disconnect and the old disconnect assembly

4. Remove the new part from the box and remove the protective plastic plugs inside of each seal.

5. The new units are pre-greased internally from the factory, however just like most any seal, it is a good idea to apply a small amount of lube along the lip of each seal with your finger. This prevents the seals form being damaged when the metals shafts slide through them during installation.

6. Install the new unit and make sure it is flush to the oil pan.

The electric actuator for the four-wheel drive that comes with this part is not compatible with the trailblazer I had to use my original part from the truck so it wouldn't throw the service the 4 wheel drive which means only use the original actuator from the truck with this part and it works fine
