Used these to strip paint & rust off an old car, including the underside of the floorpan. They're very efficient and they don't remove any of the underlying metal the way regular sanding discs can. Don't apply a lot of pressure on the disc. Work in one spot until the metal starts to become hot to the touch then move to another area and come back when it cools down, which should only take a few seconds. I used a 2" drill mount wire cup brush to get into tight spots. It took 14 discs to do the job mainly because the undercarriage had a lot of rust & grease but that's a tiny fraction of the cost of the amount of sandblast media that would have been required. I should add that the original paint on this old (1951) car didn't seem very thick and your project may require more effort

Great price and quality. I’m stripping a car body that had some kind of bed liner on it, thin and rubbery, other brands just smeared it, these remove it with easy. Well worth the money!

I expected these to last much longer than they did. I was using them to strip paint off of some interior stair railing so I could repaint. I ended up going through 12 disks to strip about 20 feet of railing. And I can confirm that the color sticks to metal.

I was way skeptical about these stripping disks but as a Journeyman Ironworker/Welder I must say I was impressed. They work better than the 80 grit off-brand flap disks I'm used to using. Cleans BOTH paint and rust really quickly and efficiently. Also leaves the surface less marred than 80 grit flappers. I was able to get almost polished surfaces easily. Their capability to clean steel helps produce some great welds. They won't last as long as other disk types but well worth the money in my professional opinion. Haven't paid close enough attention to notice a difference in the different colors though.

First time experiencing this style wheel for use. Had a 3x5ft steel plate that was old, had heavy milscale, and enough rust that caused pitting. I wanted to take off majority of the rust and milscale and a grinding disc or flappy disk was going to take ages. This wheel, brand new, will burn through all of that with relative ease to fresh bare metal. Unfortunately, with the amount of stuff I was removing it'd clog up and lose its effectiveness. It worked, but not quite as well. Which for me and my project was quite alright. I was able to remove majority of surface contaminates to create a relatively smooth surface that was pleasant to work on.Some down falls, it wore through the disk fairly complete. With the heavy work it was doing, I had to use three wheels to get to where I was happy. It also makes a huge mess. Again, i had ALOT to remove so it was probably due to my work. And it worked beautifully. I honestly couldn't be happier. With a brief experiment on a powder coated part, it removed the power coat extremely quick and easy to prep for welding.Overall I'm beyond pleased with this. How it compares to more name brand disc's and how itd fair in logevity with lighter work is unknown to me. But for a home garage with light work it'll work amazing for you. I'm seriously impressed and wondered how I could have ever worked without this all these years
