Saw on a review for this that it worked with the hue downlight, and that definitely is the case! Ones in the store made for the Halo brand lights have centers that are too small and because they're made of metal it's very difficult to try to cut that section out to make it fit. I didn't have to cut anything to make it work here but if you did have to for something it's plastic so it's easier.It would be nice if they were metal options available, but for the amount of these you get with the price, it's still definitely a good deal for what it is.

I am very happy I found this product. Whoever installed the 13 recessed lights in my house did a really crappy job and all had unever jagged cutouts. These rings were the solution to covering the bad work and now all my lights look great.

Perfect for what I needed. In our basement I removed 14 - 6" can recessed lights in a drop ceiling that I installed more than twenty years ago. The new thin LED lights I was installing didn't quite cover the hole in the ceiling tiles where the cans were installed. These goof rings were perfect and blended in quite nicely with the new lights I installed ... not noticeable at all.

Used these as an additional buffer in my recessed lighting. They still needed a dab of silicon around the edges to keep everything in place. Still way better than the old drafty canned lighting that was in the house before this makeover.

These little rings helped save my project at the last minute. I was able to order them for same day shipping. We removed old recessed lights and were trying to replace them with snap in led downlights. We used the 6 inch halo lights. Lo and behold the old holes were too big and the lights went right through. I didn’t want to attempt some shoddy patchwork and came across these rings. I looked at several brands and several sizes across different websites. Although the description for these says 8” lights, they really were useful for a 6 inch light. The inner diameter is about 6.25” which is exactly the recommended hole size for the halo lights. See first pic with the ring around the light before installation. Once we had the rings the lights installed perfectly and we didn’t have any other issues with the hole size. See second pic. in short, these are a great solution for retrofitting old can lights to newer led lights.
