These are high quality, easy to use, and functional strainers to use for straining urine for stones. The size makes it easy to hold and either drain a collected urine sample through or for a male or female to hold and urinate through directly. I rinsed it thoroughly and reused it several times. I didn’t manage to catch any of my stones, as I had already passed 2 in the emergency room and have one that’s likely too big to pass without intervention (currently hanging out in my renal pelvis and fortunately not obstructing anything). I held on to the additional strainers, for my next (dreaded) attack of painful passing of stones, and they are also useful to have around for my private nursing clients. Good deal for the price point, high quality strainers.

Not a bad strainer to catch your kidney stone in. A bit large to put into your pocket for carrying around.

I hope to never use these for their intended purposes of kidney stones. I use these to filter out the larger chunks of debris from lava lamps and they do a good job of it with the fine mesh filter.Only issue I have found is the wax tends to clog the mesh filter if pushed into too much. So then I need hot water to break it up from the mesh but other than that it's an easy way to get the chunks out from the liquid.

I really like this even though I'm not using this for kidney stone collection. It's a nice funnel and it's got a decently fine mesh filter. I plan to remove the contaminants in a liquid for my bike. While it's not fine enough for that, I just put a small coffee filter for that. It works for so many uses and it's well made. I really like it and recommend it for any use in addition to kidney stone collection! :)

I recently went thru kidney stones for the 5th time. After surgery (and them zapping 6 of them to ashes with a laser), I was startled to feel the sensation of another stone recently. By pure luck I was able to capture it when it passed and get it to my doctor for analysis... And then I saw these.Basically, as far as I can tell, these are EXACTLY the same as what my doctor, years ago, had given me when I was sent home to pass a stone 'naturally'; it's just a funnel with a filter in it, with holes small enough to let urine pass, but catch anything solid.Given that this was a six pack, for the price, I'm delighted -- I've now got one in each bathroom, and a few spares (for traveling.)

I ordered the Calculi Strainer Kidney Stone Collector expecting to get a sealed product due to the intended use. I received the collectors all taped together, with the label stuck directly to the outer collector. Upon inspection they were also dirty. To be able to use the product, I will need to wash them thoroughly, first. They do work properly, so I did give stars for that, but I had to deduct stars for the way they are packaged. Please make sure to cover and seal your product.

I now keep one of these available in each of our bathrooms in case I experience another kidney stone. By collecting one for analysis, a doctor can have it studied to determine if a stone is calcium oxalate, struvite, or other type. That can help to determine what the likely cause of the stone's creation was. I will now be prepared for collection if I sense that another stone is about to pass.I will also keep one with my eBike's brake servicing kit to strain the mineral oil prior to reusing it after bleeding air from the brake lines. If it contains any contaminants large enough for one of these filters to reveal, I will know to instead use fresh mineral oil instead of reusing the old oil.I'm uncertain how well this would work as a filtering funnel while add motor oil to an engine. That oil might be thick enough to take a long time to pass through the fine screen. If it does work, it will be a great means of keeping any debris from entering the engine while adding oil.
