These PWM speed controllers work well. I like the size of these controllers, though I don't think I'd trust them with a sustained 5A load for any extended period of time. There's a couple of holes for mounting options on the PCB itself, as well as the nut and washer on the knob itself.

I used these for some custom fans that repurposed some old PC fans and they work great! The heads on the lugs are a little soft so don't over-tighten them because if you cause your screwdriver to cam-out it is pretty easy to start damaging the head. I also like that the LED indicator only comes on when passing power rather than always being on.
