This shim kit is a replacement for the peel washer and is used for mounting muzzle devices. New muzzle brakes are normally supplied with the necessary washers, nuts, or shims; however, sometimes replacement washers are needed if one is damaged or if installing a muzzle device on a different gun.
While Peel washers require you to heat them and then peel off separate layers of the washer to get to the desired thickness, a Shim Kit is much simpler. There is no heating or peeling of layers needed. Just install the necessary combination of shims to get the precise alignment you need.
Each shim set ships with QTY 1 of Shim 1 (largest), QTY 4 of Shim 2 (Medium), and QTY 4 of Shim 3 (smallest). The large shim can be used to give the installer one half of a rotation or as a spacer for barrels that do not have relief cuts behind the threads. Shim 2 is used in varying quantities to achieve the proper alignment of your muzzle device. This shim gives the installer approximately 45 degrees of rotation. If needed, Shim 3 can be used where smaller degrees of rotation are needed for proper alignment.

The outer diameter could've been a little smaller to match what I was spacing, but overall it worked and my device is clocked perfectly.

These are quality shims and consistent thickness across the shims. Wish there were more thicknesses instead of 0.004 , 0.008 and thicker. For reference when timing a muzzle brake 5/8x24 TPI is 0.04166" per revolution so the 0.004 shim is roughly 36 degrees of rotation.

Good shims I did not expect the different thicknesses but they really came in handy used 1 shim and my muzzle device was lined up perfectly, very happy with this product.

I had written a previous review where some of the shims were damaged. "3 of the 9 shims ended up damaged. The shims are very thin and had the edges bent/rolled over making them unusable. I was able to do what I needed but there is no way to do an additional job."The seller has made contact and rectified the issue satisfactorily. I was unable to edit my initial review so I wanted to be sure to add another one to show the top notch customer service. Would purchase again!
