I received the lamp in excellent condition - it was well packaged in custom styrofoam in a box appropriately sized. I used acetone to remove the paint, this was actually very easy, as I didn't order it as a spring/Easter decoration. So for others wanting to repurpose this, you definitely can!!The glass is a good thickness, not so thin that you worry over handling it, not so thick that it's excessively heavy. The crackle is beautiful. The lights are simple, but very pretty, and enough light is provided fir the size. The light controls are the "base" of the lamp, and also simple and it's easy to change the batteries. However, the base has only a little bit of glue holding it in place, again this works for me as I want to tack the string light to the top of the egg so there's light from top to bottom, BUT I suggest handling battery changes with care. Or you might have to hot glue the base back in place.Overall, this is a great lamp, and a great value for the money, considering it's real glass! And it actually works!! Highly recommend for use as-is or for repurposing into something else.
