Used for daughters wedding program. Outside wedding, no shade. Great value, very functional and sturdy. One thing I would add. (Read on Pinterest) if using with cardstock for fans, you must use Scotch double stick permanent tape. Glue makes the paper ripple. Glue sticks are not strong enough. We had to run to the store four times for more tape. Get more than you think you need, you can always return them

I ordered similar sticks from a local craft store and they weren't much larger than regular popsicle sticks. These however, were sturdy and wide enough to actually hold a fan and make use of it! I will definitely order more for future events!

Decent thickness- used to make face signs. Sanded and smooth. Very comfortable for young and old to hold.
