INSTALLATION STEPS:
1. Remove door by loosening 2 screws located in upper left and right corners.
2. In upper left portion of fuse board, loosen NEG- lug (White wire) and VCC+ lug (Red wire). By depress the tab at the bottom of the fuse board. Do not back the lug screws all the way out.
3. Remove black wires coming up from converter in the lower section.
4. Locate and remove the converter’s Green Ground wire attached to the AC Ground bar on the left side of the compartment.
5. Remove White Neutral wire attached to the AC Neutral bar at the top of the compartment.
6. Slide the MBA forward routing the wires through the slots in the case until the MBA clears the enclosure.
7. Reverse the order of steps 1-6 install the replacement MBA.

This was not a direct replacement for my converter in my RV however, with a little modification, it adapted in very nicely and I’ve been using it now for about three months and it works perfect. The factory replacement was $200 more and this was a good compromise for an affordable replacement.

We were totally happy with the convertor until about 12 hours into our trip, the fan decided to stop working so the convertor overheated. We were on a trip so we couldn't just send it back. My husband checked it with his multimeter and found out it had a bad ground so the fan shut off. We had to hard wire the fan so it had a ground wire and would run to charge our battery's. Not very happy with convertor now.

I've had to replace my 55 amp converter on my RV three times now, for various reasons. The first two times was with a different brand converter which they worked as expected didn't have electrical shortage issues. After installing this one and checking my multimeter to make sure it had the right voltage and everything, My lights flicker almost constantly after this one was installed. I went back through and checked all my wire connections and such and everything looked good but still have the flickering problem and have no idea how to fix it other than replacing the converter again.

I needed a smart and powerful battery charger that can recognize battery chemistry and switch accordingly.This converter/charger fits my requirements and has some of the most important features you need in a charger, including automatic lead-acid/lithium battery type recognition and charge profile, 3-step charging ending with trickle charge to maintain but not burn the batteries, overvoltage, overcurrent, overload, overheating and short circuit protections (the reverse polarity protection is also featured but I won't push my luck to test or rely on that), as well as fast charging -I wouldn't actually want a more powerful charger than this because I prefer not to hit my batteries any harder than this.I like the on-demand fan cooling as well, there's nothing more annoying in a power device than a fan that runs full speed when idling with no loads.The manufacturing also looks decent and clean, I just wish it came with (or had the option for) its own enclosure for additional protection.Another thing I would have liked was a more in-depth explanation of the charging algorithms for the battery types supported. The manual is OK and covers the summary of it but it would have been nice to include more detail or provide links to resources.Anyway, so far all is well, time will provide proof of reliability, and I will come back with updates if anything changes.

I feel like this is a huge upgrade compared to what they had as the original equipment. It has a lot better batter sensing options and is very quiet.
