Well made T nuts with spring loaded balls. No rough edges.

These are interesting fasteners used to make attachments in aluminum extrusions, and can be "rolled in" in the middle of a run, rather than needing to be inserted at an end. They are well-made with smooth surfaces and good coating for corrosion resistance. A standard 5/16"-18 screw threads right in with no difficulty. The fitting is "deep" enough that a driven-in screw penetrates several rotations and ensures a solid grip.

If you have used 1.5" aluminum extrusion from the major distributor in the USA, you will understand that their products are exceptionally high quality but at a exceptionally high price. These Deooxye 5/16-18 Steel Roll in T-nuts are an excellent option to help soften the blow when adding connectors to an existing extrusion based project.First off, the price for this 20 pack of roll-in t-nuts is crazy low compared to the OEM version, and price isn't the only advantage as these are obtainable pretty immediately through Amazon whereas ordering from the standard OEM channel can take a week or more for delivery. As far as quality of design and manufacturing is concerned, these chrome-finished, steel t-nuts work like a dream. Once one of these t-nuts have been installed into an extrusion slot, the spring-assisted small ball bearing that is part of the t-nut presses against the extrusion wall which secures the t-nut in place with enough force to keep it stable but can still be adjusted as needed. The use of the spring is excellent, but it can make installing the t-nut a bit fidgety.I can't recommend these Deooxye 5/16"/18 t-nuts highly enough.

There are a number of different designs for t-nuts used in extrusion. The cheapest are the flat economy t-nuts. Although inexpensive, these can sometimes be hard to use, as the flat nut lies in the bottom of the slot, usually at a slight angle, making it very hard to engage the bolt into the T-nut. Use those when cost is an issue and you have good access if you need to sneak a helper probe around the back to the nut to get it positioned for the bolt. Also, some economy T-nuts don't seem to told tension as well, although thread locker should almost always be used with any t-nut T-nut, like this product, with some kind of tension provided with a spring are much easier to engage with the bolt. In addition these also benefit from a roll-in design, so the can be put in the slot easily without access to an open end of the extrusion. These are constructed very well, no loose balls and springs in the box. I have used more expensive brands, and these are every bit a good.
