This little scale is fabulous for my purpose and very 'cute'. Price (including shipping) is not bad for this teacher. There is a spot for one more big weight--probably 25 g--but one was not included. Only two 2g, one 1g, one 5g, and one 10 g. The Amazon site lists that 11 different weights come with it, and that is definitely not true! The accuracy is pretty good-within 1 gram. Shipping time was such that it made it just in time for my need, and it beat the estimate by two days.

A fine working scale, easy to display on a lawyer's desk or credenza as a symbol of the balanced scales of justice.

My fault for not reading the reviews that outlined the problems I'm having. It's cheaply made, flimsy, and the case it comes in is part of the stand, rendering the item basically worthless as it's hideous. Two starts because at least it's inexpensive.

Quality not quite up to par. One of the plates arrived tarnished, both have small dents in them. And though I see it now in reexamining the picture, didn't realize that the scale does not stand on its own but needs to be attached to the case for display. Other vendors call it out explicitly. Note the case is much more a royal purple and not blue as described, in my opinion. Plan to return.

it's a good thing it's a cheap item. Mine came with a broken chain on one of the scales, but seeing the reviews I kind of expected that and mainly got this as a visual aid so I can build my own portable scales, the rest is all usable and the box is nice, so at the very least if I can make my own scales I can have this as a working scale set instead of a piece of decoration. Update: Okay I took the time to check the chain that was broken and was able to fix it by prying it open a little and slipping the links back together and then squeezing it shut again. I don't know exactly how accurate it is with anything but the weights it came with but I have 20 grams per tray (one 20 gram in the right and two 10 gram in the left since it came with two) and it's fairly well balanced to the point that if you weren't paying attention it would seem perfectly balanced but if you look at the pointer there is a very very slight tilt to the 20 gram weight in the right tray. At the least it's a good prop if you need it for a play or something that it doesn't need it to be accurate to the exact. I will still try to make a working balance scale using this item as an example.

I can't comment on the accuracy of these scales, but I was looking for a set of small, lightweight, economical gold-tone scales to convert into a "Millennium Scales" ornament for my niece, who's a big Yu-gi-oh fan. These were just what I was looking for. At 4 or 5" across, they were just the size I wanted, also the right color, and inexpensive enough I felt justified not building a pair of scales from the ground up. Yay! They also arrived quickly and are of surprisingly sturdy quality, especially given the price.

Scale is as shown, looks nice enough. I received a duplicate 10gm weight which had nowhere to go in the case, annoying but not the end of the world. Metal pieces had some sharp edges, was originally going to give as a gift but decided against it mostly because of this. Scales are connected together and stand screws into the case itself, not ideal for showing off and can sometimes get tangled into itself. Not very precise, favors one side but still looks nice.

This set was ordered to be a prop in a historical presentation for my daughter's class. It was perfect. Inexpensive and portable, but large enough for the class to see. The accuracy was not tested or needed. The teacher was impressed that she thought of the scales and liked the look.
