Your cart is empty. These washers have cams or wedges on one side, with a lead angle greater than a thread angle, and radial teeth or ribs on the other side. The washers are installed cam face to cam face. When tightening the fastener to preload, the teeth penetrate and seat against the joint material and the nut and/or fastener head. When subjected to vibration the interacting cams create a wedge action which prevents the fastener from vibrating loose.

Learned about these at work and decided to get some for a kart racing engine that had issues with vibration loosening bolts. Have had mixed luck with them. One engine had held good and tight and the other still backed some bolts out. Thinking maybe I didn't get enough torque to hold the washers tight, but the bolts were torqued to the engine manufacturer's spec, which just may not have been enough for the washers, so not necessarily their fault.

The items i received worked fine however they were advertised as Nord Lock Vibration proof lock washers. The items supplied were manufactured by a company other than Nord Lock Inc.
