These steel wool scrubbers are like most other wool scrubbers without handles, meaning they are very durable and able to remove tough stains. The handle is a game changer as it makes it easier to place the wool in dirty areas for optimal cleaning. The only drawback is the need to keep a screwdriver close by to replace a worn out wool pad.

I have been using this to clean my cast iron skillets when they are in need of a good scrubbing. These work very well to scrub out burnt bits that may be a little stubborn and resist casual cleaning. My cast iron skillets have not achieved optimal season as of yet and occasionally get a little stuff stuck on them depending on what is being cooked. This comes with replacement wool for when it is worn out. I have not finished replaced the one I am using yet. So far, the wool scrubbers seem very long lasting or I really am not using much elbow grease as the scrubber does the trick for me. I find the knob of the scrubber very easy to hold and get a good downward pressure for maximum effective scrubbing.
