This load sensor, sometimes called a strain gauge, is the same one found in digital bathroom scales (you know, the ones you use in January for your New Year’s resolutions, and then forget about a month later).

The sensor is a group of half-bridge strain gauge, there are 3 ways to use it

50kg Load Cell

1. Use one sensor with an external resistor to form a full-bridge measurement, the range of a sensor range: 50kg. External resistance on the higher requirements.

2.Use two sensors to form a full-bridge measurement, measuring range for the sum of the two sensors: 50kgx2 = 100kg

3.Use four sensors to form a full-bridge measurement, measuring range for the sum of four sensors: 50kgx4 = 200kg

HX711 AD Module

This module uses 24 high precision A/D converter chip hx711. It is a specially designed for the high precision electronic scale designwith two analog input channelthe internal integration of 128 times the programmable gain amplifier. The input circuit can be configured to provide a bridge type pressure bridge (such as pressureweighing sensor mode)is of high precisionlow cost is an ideal sampling front-end module.

It took a while to find the proper circuitry needed to use, but once i did i was able to hook these up and they seem to work well. Happy so far

This does not have any consistency whatsoever. Wired as instructed, and taking mean reading of 100 samples each time I still get completely unusable results. My weight is a water jug, up to 8 gallons, about 25Kg. Measurements after tare range from 45Kg to -30Kg. A margin of error 2x my max weight.

The instructions provided work and I am able to get close to accurate measurements without much effort. The one issue I had to figure out is how the metal must be mounted. If it is mounted even slightly incorrectly it will give odd and bogus data.The key is to have the outer perimeter lifted off of the mounting surface enough that the center metal hangs freely. It was only about 2mm but it made all of the difference.I'm only giving it 4 stars because the wires are very thin and seem quite breakable.
