The cylinders are very well made and accurate with the measurements. I have used them with liquid and powder substances and the work well. The price for both was good and I would definitely recommend them to others.

As I mentioned in the title, I own multiple measuring pitchers made by Accupour, four pitchers to be exact (which includes this eight-ounce pitcher), and I have had good results with all of them. The smaller four-ounce cylinder is new to me in terms of the style, and I also like it, however, it's not the best option for my workshop environment. The pitcher, like the others I have, is very easy to read with its raised black incremental markings. Although it is a smaller pitcher, it is reasonably stable when placed down, unlike the cylinder which is much easier to accidentally tip over - hence, in my workshop it's not something I would want to fill to any degree, place down, and walk away from. The pitcher pours liquids very precisely and accurately, and even when stopping the pour and restarting, it can be accomplished with no mess - no drips, and no liquids running down the front of the pitcher to drip on the floor. This is a desirable characteristic that all my Accupour pitchers exhibit and I have come to appreciate it. Interestingly enough, even the smaller four-ounce cylinder, despite not having any spout, also has similar pouring traits. While the pitcher has raised black markings, those on the cylinder are not raised. They are easy to read, just like those of the pitcher however. But there is something to be aware of - solvents can, and will remove the black markings from these - trust me, I've already found out, lol. Brake cleaner for example, will remove the markings, so keep that in mind. But it's worth noting that I have found the careful use of a black magic marker can quickly touch up those raised markings to "good as new," condition, but if you accidentally remove them from the smooth four-ounce cylinder, well, then you are going to be out of luck.I like these Accupour pitchers and have found them to be handy and useful. The only thing knocking a star off of this two-piece set would be the measuring cylinder. In that regard, I think raised markings would have been the way to go, so at least then if you were to accidentally remove the black markings, you could salvage the situation with a black magic marker.

I requested this set primarily for the polypropylene graduated beaker with a handle (“pitcher”). I liked the fact that the handle provides a secure grip even if the user has large hands and is wearing gloves. The beaker seems stable, and the metric (milliliter) and imperial (US fluid ounces) graduations are easily read. The graduated cylinder, however, at least for me is not very useful. The diameter of the base is smaller than the top and would be unstable if filled. Also, because the base lacks a flange with hexagonal (or similar) base it would be prone to rolling off the counter if laid down. Finally, the black graduations are merely printed on the smooth surface (i.e., the graduations are not raised plastic). The black graduations have already started to rub off. I hope this does not happen with the beaker but, even if it does, the graduations are raised. I compared the volumes of the beaker and cylinder with water from a graduated, lab-grade beaker and the beaker and cylinder graduations seem to be accurate. Scoring this set presents a quandary – I would like to give the graduated beaker four stars and the graduated cylinder 2 stars (at best); however, given I am evaluating the set, I will average the scores and give the set three stars.PROS• Nice graduated, polypropylene beaker with a handle.• The handle accommodates large hands, even if they are gloved.• Easy to read black, raised graduations on the beaker (only).• Both the beaker and the cylinder have metric (milliliter) and imperial (US fluid ounces) graduations.CONS• The included graduated cylinder is poorly designed with a base considerably smaller than the top making it unstable.• There is no hexagonal (or similar) flange on the base which reduces stability and it can roll off a lab counter.• The graduations on the cylinder are only printed, not raised, and were starting to rub off when I opened the package.

I use these for measuring accumulated water in my rain gauge, mixing herbicides for application to the lake weeds (permitted, licensed, and insured), measuring laundry detergent, and occasionally in the kitchen. Some will find them great for mixing 2-stroke fuel. The pitcher is perfect for many applications. The graduations are molded and printed black for clear readings. The tall-ish aspect ratio is great for precise readings but with good stability. I checked the calibration using my kitchen scale. 250 grams of water was exactly on the 250 ml mark. This pitcher will get a lot of use around my house. The cylinder is definitely not a graduated cylinder. Having worked in a lab for decades, the words "graduated cylinder" refer to a completely different tool. However, this cylinder is OK for the kitchen. The graduations are printed but not molded. I did not check if solvents like alcohol or gasoline wash off the printing. But, best be careful. Unlike a lab graduated cylinder, this one has no base to keep it from tipping over. This is a hand tool. I checked the calibration again with my kitchen scale. 100 grams of water registered 105 ml in the cylinder. It has a dual scale that shows fluid ounces also. The best use for this cylinder is in the kitchen or laundry room where accuracy is not critical.I'll give the set 5 starts for the perfect pitcher. For me, the cylinder essentially does not exist.
