Working Principle
This kind of capacitor utilizes hermetically-sealed construction. When the inner core is broken down during the usage of capacitor, the main material of core,is decomposed in the high temperature resulted from the breakdown, causing a lot of gas which cannot be released.The gas in the capacitor increases the inner pressure, which deforms the cover of capacitor and makes it bulge outward.
As the rivet connects terminals,insulated bowl,sealing ring and capacitor cover as the assembly.other parts of this assembly move above with the capacitor cover. Copper foil sticks to the explosion-proof block which is fixed in the capacitor.
When the capacitor cover moves above,copper foil cannot move and is pulled off if the capacitor inner pressure meets a certain level. In this way, the core of the capacitor disconnects with the outside power supply and breakdown of core is terminated.so as to activate protection.

This was a exact replacement capacitor for my furnace fan motor. All the connectors were exactly the same as my old one, so it was an easy switch over. It's been running for many months with no issues. I would recommend this capacitor.

Decided to start regularly testing my HVAC capacitors after my ECM blower motor failed and took 1k away from my bank account (not sure if the built-in capacitor was the issue but it got me thinking).I purchased a Klein CL390 to check for capacitance on both my capacitors in my outside unit (herm and fan). I should note I only use this dual run Surephon for the compressor side while I use a separate capacitor for my fan. My fan is an aftermarket part and needs 5uf, not 10uf. Since I also need a 2.5 inch cylinder capacitor to fill the hole punched out in my control box, I just buy this 45+10 for the herm side and keep a 2nd 5uf capacitor for the fan.Back to the review of the Surephun. The part itself was a near replacement to the previous capacitor I bought at a local HVAC shop (one of the few that sells to customers) 2 yrs ago for $65 + gas and travel time. They were both Surephon 45+10, but the old one was 440VAC where this one is 370/440VAC. All else was the same.After 2 yrs of heavy use (I live in Texas and keep my AC at 67°f - 72°f even when its 100°f+ outside) the capacitance on the original part was 43.6mf (42.5 is the low side of the +/- 5%). For $17 on Amazon I decided to proactively go ahead and just replace it.If this $17 part lasts 2-3 years under heavy stress, high ambient temps, helps keeps my compressor operating efficiently, and keeps my family and pets cool year round I will call it a win.I recommend this part from Amazon! Good price and FAST delivery.

It was an easy replacement after turning off power and shorting the capacitors, the biggest job was removing the cover screws there as about 12 of them. The Surephon CBB65 was physically a bit larger than the Dometic Duo Therm OEM (2014) capacitor, however there was enough space and pipe strap to complete the replacement without modification. The functional test was successful had no problems starting the fan and condenser and was cooling in a very short time. I'm happy with the purchased and bought a second one in case my other RV AC fails.

The previous capacitor on our AC unit was from when we moved into our brand new house three years ago. Unfortunately, due to a lot of power outages, the capacitor on one of our AC units burned out. We ordered this and it was an exact fit after matching everything from the old capacitor to the new capacitor. Works great! Awesome replacement!!

My air conditioner stopped working randomly and with some research and advice, it was suggested to try and replace the capacitor. The price, convenience, and expedient delivery is hard to beat! Pay attention to the specs to make sure it is compatible. Very easy to install. The dimensions are slightly different than the old one but it was a non issue since there was plenty of room.
