I was looking for some low melting point bronze and these fit within my capability of metal melting. 710c -> 820c ia well within the range I need. I'm not using these for brazing, but for casting, I didn't need much so 1/2 lb is about right. If I have problems due to the material while casting I will update, but I don't expect I'll have to.

I got to bust out my oxymapp torch for the first time, as this will not melt with a regular propane torch. I was working on brazing some 3/4" copper pipe for a project and it worked just as advertised. I didn't have any brazing flux and I know it says it doesn't require flux, but I went ahead and used some solder flux instead. I don't think it did anything as I'm pretty sure it was all evaporated before the rod even melted, but the joint was strong and watertight nonetheless. Almost certainly overkill for my application (a solder joint would have probably worked fine), but I wanted to be certain as my part won't just be sitting behind a wall and might have to take some decent abuse. Good product.

These FOX ALLOY- 40pcs Brass Brazing Rods HS221 1/2 LB Diameter 5/64" Round Bare Bronze Brazing rods helped to save money with doing a muffler replacement myself and the joint is strong and durable. I used an oxy/acetyl. torch with a low flame to braze on a new muffler onto an older tractor using some of these rods and they melted and fused easily. I used flux anyway to be sure but, on a test weld -the rods did melt and fuse with no added flux- but on my project I just wanted to be sure of a strong welded brazed joint because of the excessive vibration when operating the tractor. Good rods at a good price! Great find!

You'll have to use flux, as these are solid alloy pieces. I used zinc chloride to braze on copper which works out fine, since these filler rods are predominantly copper. Nice melt and flow - very good looking joints. I found that these rods also work with a tungsten if you're doing some tig work...zap, zap! You've got a pool to fill the gap. I like the color of this as a filler rod material. These seem to be a better value than the filler rods available at our supply outlet as they are at a lower price point. Bronze is not my everyday filler material but definitely has a purpose & place - mostly used for HVAC brazing work. I'm sure any oxy/acetylene torch should melt these easily, as I had zero difficulty with my induction heater.A good value on a nice filler rod.Two thumbs up!

If you are looking for BCuP-2 (0% Silver) 5/64 brazing rod, this 1/2lb package from Fox Alloy is all you need, a real bargain. It performs as well as other BCuP-2 brazing rod I've purchased through my local welding retailer. Just a better value and more convenient via Amazon.

I was hoping to use these to braze heavy steel wire (think chain link fence type gauge) but I could not get it to melt with Mapp gas even though I got the wire bright cherry red hot. I did not try it with Oxy acetylene, maybe that would work but I think it would also melt my project. I think this is probably best suited for TIG welding but I don’t have that capability.
