Samsung French door 'fridge's. They are pretty notorious for freezing up and having all sorts of problems. The issue is there's a cooling fan in the back of the fridge (it's covered over by a plastic shield) and it's job is to help keep things, well, cold. There's a heating element that runs around the cooling condenser and its job is to keep ice from forming up and fouling up the cooling element. As the ice melts it drips into a trough at the bottom and then drains out into an evaporation pan under the unit. The drain hole is tiny and it ends up freezing shut, then the melted ice runs down the back of your fridge and pools below the pull out bottom drawer. And then it all freezes and the door won't move. And then it melts and drips down the front of your freezer door and onto the floor. It's a real good time! So, this clip is a longer iteration of the one that comes standard on the unit. The idea is that it will reach further down into the drain hole and keep it from icing up. Getting the original clip out was fairly easy. I used a pair of wire snips and cut through the aluminum. Then the new clip goes over the heating element and you simply pinch it closed using your fingers (be very careful while you're poking around. There is refrigerant in the cooling tubes and if you cut that you're through). The problem I faced was the long arm on the new clip was too long and the piece would not seat into the drain hole properly. So I trimmed off a small piece at a time with my wire cutters until it seated. Tedious work but not too difficult. I did slice up the back of my hands pretty good on the cooling vines - but doing this job with gloves on would be close to impossible so sometimes you gotta take one for the team. It's been a few days and, so far, no more water drips. I'm hoping this little device is the cure.As a side note, you'll need to let your fridge totally defrost in order to get the back cover off to then get at the cooling condenser. You'll want to plan on at least a day for it to defrost. Otherwise the back cover will be frozen to the condenser and it won't budge. There are some very good vids on YouTube for how to perform this operation.

These are a little too short for the Frigidaire but certainly helped provide heat to the drain trough. Would buy again. Thinking of extending the length with some wire. As it is, a good investment.

I installed this and it seemed to work but eventually water and ice build up was back. The solution was to open the rear bottom panel of the fridge and clean the drain pipe which was clogged due to dust etc. Guess this was a completely unnecessary purchase!

Like everyone else our Lowe's French door Samsung fridge started leaking water under the drawer and behind the freezer. The most important step when replacing this is to be patient and get the ice out of the drain tube. We used a hair dryer to melt most of it. Then we poured hot water from the kettle into it. Let the water fill up the V drain on the sides of the drain hole and wait. After about ten minutes of adding water it finally broke loose and drained out fast. Then put this in and put it back together. If you just add this you'll probably have the same problem because there's 3 feet of ice in that tube. It's a ridiculous design but this will get you back to liking your fancy fridge.

Absolutely amazing value and worked like a charm! Install wasn't overly easy, but that's not this part's fault - it's the way the fridge is built. Once it's deiced and dried out, go ahead and disassemble and install. if you do it while the refrigerator is still cold, you run the risk of cracking panels. Ours was completely iced over and the drain hole took a while to thaw, even with a hair dryer. However, once the part was in, it was pretty straightforward to put back together. Our fridge has been ice and leak free (under the deli drawer) free for two + months now. So grateful for this little contraption/solution!

First off I'm pretty much a do-it-yourself type of person so when I say that I've never done this before but I was able to do it within about 30 minutes it was really nice. I also have a Samsung counter depth fridge that started leaking into the vegetable storage drawers. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and finally realized that the coils weren't heating enough to allow the water to go to go out and therefore we're leaking into the vegetable drawer. It was super easy to do just removing all of the drawers and the shelves and popping off the back piece I was able to easily identify where the lines were and pop off the old heating coil mechanism and placing this one on it. I did this about 4 months ago I have not had a week since.

I just installed this on my Samsung refrigerator. I had to bend the end to accommodate the bend in my drain. Apparently some Samsung drains go straight down. My model has a curve, so instead of cutting off the end I bent the aluminum end. It was not difficult to do and seemed to fit well after I did it. Since it's aluminum, it cuts and bends easily. I got the 4 pack just to have leftovers in case I screwed up the install.

Great price and easy to install on heater and long enough to go down into drain hole to give added heat to drain during defrost cycle. Have been using these on many other brands after cleaning ice and drain out. Price is excellent for these four units compared to many other manf.

This product was used to correct a known flaw with Samsung fridge. Lots of youtube videos to direct install. Installation of product was fairly straight forward. Fridge has been excess water free for a few weeks now!
