I fermented three wines last year. The first two with the two piece air locks and the sound was disturbing with the first two. The third one was one of these 3 piece airlocks and I was very much pleased with the quieter fermentation. I am doing five wines this year with this three piece air lock. They are easy to clean and much quieter. My choice from now on.

The pictured airlocks are not what was delivered. Cheap polyethylene one piece airlocks were sent (as noted in some other reviews). Unlike the ones pictured, the ones delivered CANNOT be cleaned! Why someone thinks these are equal substitutes escapes me.
