To test everything out, I made a little stamp to use when swatching art supplies. It should be a lot more fun than just a little square like I normally do! I unfortunately donât have any ink that will work as of writing this review, so to show the carved block I just colored the raised areas. The rubber is nice and thick, so you donât have to worry about carving too deep and going through the whole thing. As a beginner, I know I tend to carve too deep, and have had that problem in the past with another material I used. The rubber is also very soft. This is both nice and kind of difficult. Itâs soft enough that it will deform as youâre cutting it, so you need to be careful with that, but itâs also soft enough that it cuts pretty decently without a ton of force. The cutting tool is okay. Itâs definitely functional, the heads seem sharp enough to cut cleanly, etc. However, itâs not the best quality. Putting the blades in is actually really hard in mine, as the plastic is really stiff and the hole isnât quite right. It still worked, just took a lot of effort to push the blade piece into place. Not necessarily my favorite thing when one end is sharp. I do really wish there was a smaller cutting head as well. The smallest one really didnât let me get small enough to go around my lines in my design, though if your designs are larger, youâll likely have fewer issues. The craft knife is VERY sharp, and cut very well. The extra blades are likely just as sharp. As stated, I donât have the correct ink to properly try the brayer out, but I tested it with a little bit of acrylic paint just to see how flat it was, and it does look to be flat and like itâll work well with the rest of the kit. It is wide enough to cover the whole rubber block in one go, but generally you donât want to do just one pass anyways. It also washed decently from said paint, with no residue or immediate rusting after it was dry.Overall, this seems to be a good beginners kit. The quality isnât the best, but if you just want to see if you like the process, then this would be a good option for you. Just make sure to order your ink as well, so you can try out whatever you create right away.

This little kit has the main pieces needed to practice relief printing like woodcut, engravings or linoleum cut. It comes with 4 carving blocks, an exacto blade, a set of carving blades, and a roller. All you need to supply is paint/ink, paper and clean up supplies. The kit arrived in good working order, and a new user can begin working with this immediately. I think this kit is fairly priced, and is a kit for beginners or hobbyists.
