I ordered these primarily to clean up antique crosscut saws of surface rust. I used a 10K RPM angle grinder on both sides of two 5' long saws. One wire brush did the job well and is still in great shape and doesn't appear to have lost any wire strands. I nearly burned out my grinder in the process, so I know I gave the brush a workout. The surface rust is now gone as well as some paint. The Amazon description states the maximum RPM of 12,500, while the brush itself has stamped onto it a max RPM of 8500. Well, it seemed to do well at 10,000. The nut to remove the brush from the grinder appears to be 1". Come time to be done with it I'll see if I can get it off, since I don't seem to have a narrow wrench that large.

These Eco Walker wire cup brushes have been a huge help restoring some damaged golf clubs. They do a great job of finding the balance between not enough and too much surface cleaning or stripping. I have used one to remove the corrosion and damaged finish from my golf club made with a soft alloy material; the brush left zero damage to the face of the club. I have also used these to remove rust and paint on a metal surface to prep for welding. They ate through some serious rust and thick paint with no problem. There has been very little shedding of bristles. These are a great value and they will be in my list of replacement tools.
