It is firm , not soft, but definitely worked over an old , worn mattress to give a good nights sleep. Old mattress left me in severe pain. I got the 4 inch and it is high over the old mattress. May be difficult to get in and out if bed for elderly. Been using about a month.

I have a queen memory foam mattress. I would sink into the bed and it caused severe back issues for me. I wanted a firm mattress topper to help with this issue. I read the reviews for this one and I wish I would have listened to the reviews saying this topper is bigger than a queen mattress. It is much bigger. I think a full topper would fit a queen based on how much larger this topper is than my mattress. I tried to no avail to roll it back up and put it in the box to send back. It won't fit since I already opened it. It is so much larger than the bed that when I try to get in the bed, it just slides everywhere. It is actually super comfortable and I did wake up with less backpain but I just don't know if I can make this oversized topper work in the end. I would rather have it too small than too big. Atleast it may stay in place that way. I have an older queen mattress this would fit in another room but if you own a newer type of mattress, this just doesn't work. I cannot afford to buy the full size topper and it will be quite the issue to return such a large item that no longer fits in the box. I just want to be clear, however, that this is in fact a great product. It just is not slip resistant do to the oversized nature of the product. A big portion hangs off of each side of the bed, and I am also concerned that will lead to support issues because the entire topper is not being held in place with something to support the entire length of the topper itself. It also looks really funny under the sheets, which does not look the best esthetically. Also, be aware that this will make your bed extremely tall. I kind of like that aspect, but that is what also causes the sliding. I have to climb to get in the bed and when I do it just slides right off by time I make it onto the bed. Once again, it does this because the sides have no support from the mattress due to the overhang being so big. I measured the part that hangs over each side of the mattress and every side hangs over the mattress by almost 2 1/2 inches. I made a huge mistake by not measuring my mattress beforehand and it cost me a lot of money. Please don't make that mistake. If it does fit, I would imagine you will enjoy it and have a great product on your hands. There was absolutely no odor to the topper at all and it looks to be well made. It is nice looking and looks like a quality product. If not for the size issue, this would definitely be a 5 star product in my opinion. This topper is basically a California queen if that makes sense.

This is a game-changer. I bought a mattress that was too soft and hated to replace it since it's pretty new. This is very firm (make sure firm is what you want!), it feels like a whole new mattress! I usually wake up with back, shoulder, and neck pain and today woke up with none of that. As another review said, it's oddly sized and slightly wider than my queen mattress, but very comfortable.

4in thickness provides firm support for pain relief, which is why I purchased this mattress topper. One thing I will note is that the topper exceeds the length and width of my current queen mattress despite the dimensions being listed as the same (60x80”). It is now difficult to cover the mattress topper and my existing mattress with the mattress cover and fitted sheet since they are not aligned.

This changed everything for our two new queen beds that were too soft. Packaged to easily move to the room needed.It added the extra firm that was missing.I covered them with our new mattress covers after allowing them to fluff. About 4 hours.Slep in wonderful support since. Best thing I’ve purchased in a while.Oh! And quick delivery.

This mattress topper far exceeded my expectations.I've only had it for a little over a week now, but it is wonderful.I have a smaller sofa bed that is newer, but is hard and poorly made. The crack where you would lift up the seat is very wide. When you lay on it, you can feel the crack pushing against your back or sides, which actually feels like a bar underneath you.My 6'9, 395lb. nephew has been sleeping on the sofa bed which was very uncomfortable.I placed this mattress topper on the sofa bed and he cannot feel the crack at all.He's been sleeping on it for the past week and he still has no complaints.I even bought a second mattress topper (different brand) and we haven't had to use it on top of this one at all.It is a medium firm. I think most people would find it okay to sleep on, if not outright comfortable.My nephew, husband, nor I could smell any odors from it.I also like the fact that it has a mattress cover, which is very comfortable. I don't mind laying on the egg carton style, but much prefer one that feels like an actual mattress.All in all, I would say this was a great purchase. I can only hope it holds up to time.I will write another review after having it for some time.
