There might be only one place on the planet with a 3Ware 64 bit driver for the Escalade 8006-2LP RAID card. It was designed for Windows 2003/XP/2000 by 3Ware but it's good enough for Windows 7 to use. It actually covers a range of 4 model numbers: 7000 / 7006 / 8000 / 8006 in all different flavors of number of ports from 2 to 12.choose 109 Driver 7.7.1 Windows 2003/XP/2000(beta) 1.15.00.052 Oct-09Mouse over the "download zip" to see the hallowed x64 for the driver, browse to the unzipped x64 package and see Windows 7 x64 happily install a generic "AMCC 3ware 7000/8000 Series ATA RAID Controller" Storage Controller device.Somebody needs to put a copy of the 7xxx_8xxx_win_x64.zip file on driverguide.com or somewhere before 3Ware gets rid of this last webpage for legacy hardware. The card seemed to operate normally even without a driver installed, but I hate looking at the device list with that annoying yellow caution triangle staring at me. art at vex dot net

great card, I've used 3ware a few times and their hardware seems to hold-up solidly. Customer support really is great too. However, this unit is EOL though the web-site does not indicate that. 64bit drivers for Server2008 are not available and will not be developed. Get the newer version of this card, 9650SE, instead. Otherwise, card works well and supports SATA drives at least 750G maybe larger.

How many channels (sp?)? XP or Vista required? 64 bit processor required? What kind of card slot required? Supports RAID 5? Rated 3 stars just because required to rate it something to get my questions published here.
