This cutting jig is an accurate way to cut and keep from wasting expensive pipe insulation.This small kit is really too small for any home plumbing insulation, as the smallest water pipes I have are 1/2" and the insulation that is used to cover a 1/2" pipe is much larger in diameter.The only use I found for this small kit, is for the insulation on the high pressure tubing on the heat pump.Good idea and product, but be sure to measure the diameter of the pipe insulation you need to cut.

These were very small and the pictured examples of the item in use does not reflect the true size and the actual intended use for the product. For DIY plumbers working with standard ½ inch to 1 inch water pipes these are not going to work, as per the what the advertised pictures shows. The foam for these water pipes is much much bigger and this item can not slip over the needed foam. There are applications where smaller foam may be needed, such as tubing on air conditioning units, to which these would work fine if you can find foam that small. The item is sturdy and the theory behide its intended use would definitely make winterizing your water pipes easier with a professional finish. If they were much bigger. My pictures are if ¾ in foam and ¾ CPVC water pipe.
