Give the inventor of the retractable brush the Nobel prize and of course the deshedder is amazing. I enjoy using the rubber one. Cats love it too.

The undercoat rake works very well for my long haired 1 yr old cat. The slicker doesn't pick up much on any of my cats but I have never really had luck with any that have the little nibs on the end. The silicone thing just is useless. I mostly use it as a distraction tool to give my cats something to chew on that is not the brush while I am brushing them out.

We have 4 shorthair cats that are quite the squirmy bunch when it comes to brushing, and I really thought I had tried every type of brush out there. Somehow, this particular slicker brush and rake/dematting comb are absolute winners. The bath brush is also unique with massaging tips. All of the cats enjoyed being brushed with these. The curvature of the slicker brush is just right, and the double-sided dematting brush worked so well with their short fur to help loosen stray hairs—and the longer teeth would work great for longer fur as well. This group sheds a fair amount and I’m so happy to have such an affordable set of quality brushes that will hold up with regular grooming. They feel solid in the hand. Can’t imagine buying just one brush for this price when a set like this is available and makes the process more enjoyable for both the pet and owner. Highly recommend, especially as a starter set! It’s really all you need.

First of all, it looked and felt a bit strange in my hand. When the button is pushed in the bristles come out..it wasn't easy, actually impossible, to hold the button in while brushing the cat. I thought "this brush designer must be some sort of crazy". I really didn't like this at all, and I was sure my cat wouldn't either..He generally rejects anything new, even really good stuff, with barely a look and possibly a sniff. I was about to send this back. But thought I'd give it another look. The instructions didn't say that the button stays in when it clicks and the bristles stay out. When I figured that out, my kitty went straight into purring mode and wanted more. I tried all 3 'implements' .. and to my surprise, he loved them all. And it really is a self-cleaning brush, and so easy; just push the button again, retract the bristles and the fur stays on the smooth surface, easy to remove. The comb has 2 types of metal teeth, close together and wider spaced. It can be taken apart, if necessary, to clean it. My kitty has pretty thin and short hair, so isn't needy of the comb, but he sure enjoyed it. To test the de-tangling ability, I tried it on myself... it works better any (human hair) comb I have tried. I'm pretty sure it will work on a long-haired cat or dog.The third piece in the set is a bath-brush... which I thought night be comparatively useless for a cat.. my kitty is most unlikely to get into a tub of water. And I had tried something like this, called a massaging brush, on him before, and he really didn't like that, even without the water! But I thought I'd give it a try, just to say I did. The bath brush is pretty flexible, firm but somewhat soft, and it has a very useful adjustable strap to hold it onto your hand.... which turned the bath-brush into a wonderfully textured petting, massage brush...like my hand had turned into a moma-cat's tongue. My kitty must have thought he died and woke up in cat heaven...Although I think some improvement could be made to the general feel of the brush, (for the human, not the cat) This grooming set is definitely a keeper. It seems to be very well made, and I would expect it to last. I suggest offering a third color for multi-cat, mixed gender households.I will be recommending, or at $13, gifting this grooming set to all my cat parent friends, especially the long-haired ones...as I think this set may well solve all their grooming complaints.

We have a very fluffy, super-poofy mini Sheepadoodle. We like to keep her hair super long & shaggy like her old English sheepdog mom. She looks so darn cute with her hair like that, but having that long wavy, frizzy, shaggy hair comes with a price. 😂 Her grooming & maintenance routine is very, very, very high maintenance. We also have to brush her at least 2 times per day (to prevent any tangling or matting) & she hates when we have to brush through knots. I've tried so many different hair brushes, including pin brushes, detangling brushes, etc--some from expensive name brands, some cheap, some per store brands--and I haven't found a brush that we are 100% completely satisfied--that is, until I tried the 2 brushes that came with this set. The deshedding & detangling brush gets through the worst of her knots without hurting her. I've not really been able to use pin brushes on her because it hurts her & she squirms away from them. This is the first pin brush we've been able to use on her without her complaining or squirming away. I think because the ends of the pin brushes have those plastic balls to protect the metal point. Whatever it is, this brush WORKS SO GOOD & as easy as clicking a button to release the dog hair collected from the brushing. If you have a furry, super fluffy, easy gets knotted or tangled pup, then you may want to consider looking into this grooming brush set. It will not disappoint!
