Bought a trailer that needed either some serious ironing or a complete reskin, and in my research I came across this tape and decided to try it out.Did I already have a rivet gun? Yes.Is it cheaper than rivets? No. Easier than rivets? No. (not really harder, either)But it looks WAY better than rivets (unless you go in for that rivet look, of course) and it's waterproof (so little to no caulk needed), and it's quiet (rivet attached sheet metal rattles - this does not).I used the primer as advised by 3M's website (3M Tape Primer 94) - is it necessary? I don't really know - didn't try it without it, but the trailer now has 750 miles on it... and that's 750 Southeast August Miles (read: HOT and HUMID) and it's held with no signs of weakening anywhere, so the 3M hasn't stuck it to me yet.I'll update this review if things change.

I returned this item. The backing is really hard to "get started" and separate from the tape. That's a minor annoyance but enough for me not to want to deal with it. I'm a big 3M fan. I wish they would've done a little better.

I used this tape on so many various projects. I originally bought it to mount my radar detector mount to my windshield. I tried other tapes, but the heat broke them down in a week or so. I did some research and most of the dash cams were using this stuff and everyone seem to come to the conclusion it works well for this purpose. I have had my radar detector mounted on my windshield for close to a year, with no problems. Much better than the suction cup things. The advantage to this product is the temperature ranges it is designed to handle.

I have become converted. Yup. You know that saying, "Put up or shut up"? Well I've been puttin' up & this tape has made me shut up. Forget the hammer & small nails, liquid nails, glue for that matter because this tape has proven to me that it has the properties to hold up about anything you would typically use glue, glue gun. or any type of liquid adhesive. I'm impressed with this product & it's multiple uses. I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for another means to avoid using traditional adhesives.

Tape lives up to the typical 3M quality. This tape is idea where you need extra strength, heavy load and no desire to remove any time soon.Used tape to reattach plastic windscreen on hood of my Durango and even in 30 degree weather the tape was sticky and held with no problem. As the weather has warmed up the tape has set and the windscreen is now even more secure than when the dealer originally installed.

3M has always been known for superior adhesives, and this tape is no exception. I bought it to attach a narrow strip of plastic edging under kitchen cabinets to conceal a strip of LED lighting. The tape is clear and approx. 1/16" thick and extremely sticky. Don't even think about repositioning this once it's attached. The thickness allows it to conform to minor surface deviations so you get 100% contact. It's not cheap but when you need something like this, it's priceless. According to 3M, a common use is for exterior signage lettering.
