OK but not what I really want it Apparently this wasn’t the rating that I needed the product worked fine but I’m all of these Steilacoom thinks it should be clear what fire rating you’re getting and what it’s approved for it worked fine it’s just I couldn’t use it for what I bought it for so I used it somewhere else it made it expensive not been able to use for what I wanted

My one fireplace door has glass that sets on two steel lugs and sealed in place by a bead of silicone around the perimeter of the glass. I began to notice the glass had been moving and rattling as I opened and closed it. The silicone had come loose over 50% of the way around. I used masking tape to minimize the mess and as glad I did because this stuff is a bit watery for the lack of a better word. After finishing the application. I immediately removed the masking tape and let it sit for a day. Works great!

Jyst what we needed. The building inspector did not even know you could get this high of a rating. Made me feel better to be over protected.

Seals like a silicone but can withstand the heat. I used it on a crack on the chimney crown where the exterior damper sits. It is exposed to heat of the smoke.

Lot's of questions on Pro-Seal vs this product. I am not an expert, but just reading the Pro-Seal vs 3M2000+, it is obvious that this product is best for the higher temperature aircraft (ie firewall sealant) applications.
