great bargain for price. Made in USA, two 8 oz plastic bottles with precision tip. Wide variety of household and shop uses. Does not attract a lot of dust or dirt. We use for everyday maintenance on hair clippers, sewing machines, exercise equipment, drill chucks, assembly and lube of metal parts (e.g., guns, shop jigs and fixtures,), etc.

To paraphrase Guy Clark, I value things that work. I don't care much for things that hang on the wall. This oil works on everything from garden hose fittings to wood screws into hardwood to squeaky door hinges.I recognize this product (like most everything else) is more expensive every time I purchase it. But it works. You can count on it.

Great value for the price. Couldn't be happier with a supply of good ol 3in1. If you know you know. Works great on small appliances like electronics razors, clippers or other small motored devices. Been a lubrication go to for decades. No diddy.

This oil is on a thinner side, which makes it great at penetrating. It does have some rust fighting petroleum distillates, almost at the level of some of the more traditional semi-auto gun oils, it leaves only a slightly brown-ish residue, say, on white leather.Besides locks, springs, hinges, it's good at penetrating wood and be used as a gun oil or a sword oil, oil for guitars' floating bridges' springs, and Telecaster saddles, (you get the idea, it's great at a lot of things), though due to its thinness -- it may require re-application a bit more often than some of the more less viscous type oils, such as Choji-style oils used with Japanese swords; the benefit is the extra rust protection that's worth it for high-carbon blades, especially when they are used for non-contact practice and cutting exercises in a humid environment. So far the "3-In-1" has not colored hamon / differential tempering line of any sword in my collection (around 10 have the DH and were treated with the oil in question at some point(s)). It also doesn't mess with the looks of brass, though it would prevent patina from forming. Keeping in mind that most brass alloys made these days don't have that 1% lead, so they patina in more green-ish hue than more yellow-ish one, that was the case when a bit of lead was used in manufacturing of copper alloys. So I don't necessarily mind its ability to prevent patination.I use it to condition samegawa / ray-skin, to give it a slightly more antique look and to make it last longer. It also well penetrates into tsuka / wooden core, giving some extra flexibility and humidity control, as well as keeping the steel tang more safe from unwanted oxidation. It just takes about a couple of application, week apart, and then another week for the oil to get absorbed well, not making the ito / silk wrap around the samegawa, feel oily.It smells kind of nice, actually... Definitely better than machine oil or old-school gun oil. Got that sweetness hint to the "aroma." It also hasn't caused any allergic reactions to my hands from prolonged used, though I do wash them with soap when done with a project. For coloring samegawa only, I prefer the more old-school brown-ish gun oils, but the difference is not very great. Even though they don't smell quite as nice, and may be a bit more toxic, they do get absorbed eventually and give that antique-type look. I think it beats using tea, that is water based, but some may disagree. In moderation -- the tea method works fine too. Just doesn't have any anti-rust capabilities. As a Go-To oil for a TONS of various types of applications, I haven't found a better choice. Priced reasonably as well. If you are looking for oil that does it all -- look no further, and through a can in your bug-out bag, too.

This is a petroleum based lubricant, not a silicone or teflon base. I use this on everything metal, very good general lubricant. It lasts longer than silicone based lubes but you do wanna cleanup and wipe away excess oil as it won’t dry on its own. It’s safe to use in the house if you cleanup with a dry rag. Used it on bedroom door hinges last night. Just a drop or two goes a long way.
